Narrator has grammar issues

The narrator's different voices are good; however, I did have to rewind 15-seconds at least a dozen times because she wasn't pronouncing words correctly, and I had to figure out what she was saying through the context of the sentence. Some examples: she would say "were" instead of it pronounced like "ware" for were-lion. The alpha lion's mom was referred to as the "dowager" which she pronounced as "do-wager", instead of "commiserating", she said "concermating" - Were there mistakes every 2-minutes? No. But on average there were enough for me to notice, rewind, and comment on it.

Wow

This was the worst reading I have ever heard. I could get past the first 30 minutes. Just unbelievably awful.

for a short was ok

the book was ok for a short story the biggest problem I had was when the narrator was speaking in guy voice it sounded more like an old dirty man to . wish for a better ending but was still ok

it was a good story...but..

the story was short and sweet. the tipical romance you would read about (only diference was that the man was a dragon). the narrator was great, her voice is very easy to listen to. but when she did the male voice I totally lost any interest in the story. he sounded so disterbing and creepy... NOT in a sexy way at all. had I known, I probably wouldn't have paid for it. maybe if the male voice was voiced over by someone else and keep the rest the same might be a good idea.

highly entertaining

I really liked the way this started. the leading lady is spunky and funny. can't wait to get to the 2nd book.

Funny yet romantic

I enjoyed the book with its storyline, however I did not like the narrator for this book. Her male impersonation was difficult to listen to. Therefore I will read the remaining books in this series rather than listen to them.

The writer, Cassidy, writes about erotic shifter books however she wants to have a break and write something more literally. Problem is her current book has been to final edit and she wants to change out the last three chapters. This is where she meets Abe, an editor that can work fast and meet her needs. The remaining of this book takes a funny yet charming turn. I did enjoy the story line very much.

What a great intro to a new series! Sets up the personalities of each and paves the way for what comes next in a very fun way!

I got the audio, Audrey Lusk really gets into it and makes it even more enjoyable.

Shifter author meets shifter.

If you could sum up Shifter: Grizzly - Part 1 in three words, what would they be?

Touching, funny --more.

What did you like best about this story?

There were several things I liked about the story. The shifter author meets new editor who happens to be a real shifter (even though she doesn't know it yet), he likes her curves and bails her out of a sticky situaltion---literally. I loved their evening after her horrible day and the morning after. I loved it all.

Which scene was your favorite?

The evening after he rescues her and she gets drunk.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The part where she was telling him why she was arrested. It did make me tear up and that was the narrator doing a great job.

Not your ordinary, everyday Werewolf

I NEVER in a thousand years thought I would enjoy werewolves and vampires. The story is wonderful. Of course, it is YA, which is fine with me. I really like the characters and the challenges they face. I'm more into the lycanthropes and lupines than the vampires. The writing is more than good, it is GREAT. The story itself is entertaining and I've enjoyed it and my husband has enjoyed it second hand (holding his belly in laughter) as I've been describing it to him. I never would have read this book and and the first in the series, had my my favorite Science Fiction author, David VanDyke not offered it to me for review for my honest and unbiased review. So, the brothers VanDyke are a great writing team and I'm thrilled they've included me to review their books occasionally.

An Absolutely Great Read!

Having read the the first book in the series Switchback, I was definitely looking forward to this second book Moonfall! I must say it really delivered and then some! The characters are richly developed, the storyline is invigorating and the flow is quick paced enough to keep the pages turning where you want to stay up all night to finish the book in one read. I absolutely couldn't put it down. Great job Drew and David at getting it out here! I rec'd this book in exchange for an honest review, and I honestly think it's great! I purchased my sister a copy as well!

Number 2, as enjoyable as its predecessor!

The VanDyke brothers have done it again! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and as I wrote about SwitchBack, it's not in my usual genre spectrum...BUT, that said, I found myself captivated by Ashlee and the other characters as they work through the story's dilemmas. Definitely like the diary/stream of consciousness writing style. My thanks to David for introducing me to the series, and to his brother Drew, and to both of them for another well crafted book.

Love the book

Can't wait until book 3 is out. Don't make me wait to long. I know it's going to be fantastic.

Ashley is back!

If you like a heroine whoâs a bit crazy and who is also a werewolf, talks to her dead mom, and constantly gets into trouble, then Ashley is your type of girl. Snarky and sassy, sheâs a one-of-a-kind character, whose inner thoughts and monologues will crack you up not once. MoonFall was as much fun as itâs prequel Switchback, filled with romance, horror, action, and of course Ashleyâs undying sarcasm. Add a pack of werewolves with shady and hostile members and you have a great read that will keep you up a few nights.

Highly recommended for the genre lovers.

A Short Read That Never Went Very Deep

It's the nature of short story romances that you have very little time to get the main characters together and off to their happily-ever-after. One of the best ways is through a "fated mate" scenario where we don't have to get a lot of build-up to them making it work: they're fated to be together, so we just have to see how everyone accepts that and see what happens next.

In Blazing Glory, I think Angelique Voisen had a good idea for a set-up. These two men meet and something goes wrong, unleashing a problem on the city that they have to make right. These two men also happen to be fated mates, one a bear shifter and one a pyromancer. That seems like it could go a lot of interesting ways. Sadly, that's not the case here.

The characterizations were not only shallow but also contradictory. Bear shifter Levi was supposed to be all gruff, and he was, being demanding and controlling, even to the point of saying what he'd be doing to his mate whether his mate wanted it or not (gross!), and then, not to much later he says he's not going to do anything pyromancer Blaze doesn't want. I mean, that's great that he said that, but totally contradicts the several times he made it seem Blaze had no choice. It was things like that with both main characters that felt inconsistent. I just didn't believe in them, and I didn't believe in their romance.

The action with the zombies and defeating the main bad guy were fine. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it was handled okay. By that point, I was just waiting for the end of the book really.

This was book 1 in a series, but I didn't realize that until after I finished it. Honestly, it felt like I was in the middle of the series. I felt like there were things about the whole set up with Havoc's crew that I was supposed to know and didn't.

Also, I have to talk about the epilogue because it really bothered me. Maybe this isn't true for everyone, but I feel like an epilogue should wrap up how things are going with the main characters and, in a series, give us a little taste of what was coming up in the next book. Of course an author wants to whet your appetite for more.

Love the bear shifters

But he was a bear shifter and he canât let his true self out in the open, although it was common knowledge, so at night his bear was out and he was a cage fighter. After a treacherous lion shifter wounded him in the ring Megan Holt found him bleeding in an alley. She was a med student with four years of medical training so she could help him. After patching him she convince him to go to her apartment to rest and recover. Kalvin was thinking he had some difficult changing to his bear in order to recover more quickly. He was feeling nevertheless defenseless but he was feeling a strong attraction for Megan, âhis mateâ. He told her who he was and she knew Kalvin Dare was a bear. Suddenly something had happened with his company and he had to leave and attend to it. Strange forces were working there and he had to fix the problem immediately. This story was interesting, entertaining, loved the characters and the plot. This bear shifters story are full of action, suspense, romance and steamy sex that made a good add to my shifter library.

A fantastic story with a great read.

I was not familiar with the world of "Hidden", so I'll admit that I was a little lost at first. Vanderlinden's writing made it so that I didn't have to be familiar with that world to enjoy this story. The world building in the other books must be grand in scale, because there is a lot to this, but with just a few "flashback" descriptions or conversations, I easily figured out what was happening.

I liked the world that is built here. The characters are solid, the pacing is well done, and the scope of the story is awesome. The main character, Eunomia, is a strong female lead, and done in such a way that you believe she is a strong female lead, not just a female in a male role.

Knippen simply nails this read. The pronunciation is perfect, the inflection and emotion between character changes are so well done that you don't get stuck trying to figure out who is saying what, and the pace of her read was easy. I will be looking for other audiobooks she has read.

Though slightly outside my normal wheelhouse, I think I'll learn more of this "Hidden" world by going back a few books, then pick up with the "Soulhunter" again.

Was No One Else Bothered by the Gasping Narrator?

The narrator gives a decent performance apart from the fact that she audibly inhales for another breath after every damn sentence. It sounds like she's gasping for breath and is very distracting. I tried my best to ignore it, but ended up just reading the kindle version instead. Listen to the audio sample. It'll give you a good idea of what you're in for before buying.

Zonaton, the male lead, chooses to pair, a rare action, with Emmala, the female lead, during her time for the "Walk".

As Emmala grows older, she and Zonaton develop feelings for one another.

I liked Emmala, she was a strong well developed character.

I wasn't to sure about Zonaton in the beginning but he grew on me.

The book was interesting but there was more focus on the villagers than the growing relationship between the two leads.

The story was not as carefree and fluffy as I had originally thought, there is some violence and references to child abuse.

Despite being a bit different from what I was expecting, the book left me curious, wanting to be provided with an update on the main characters and whether or not they can have children of their own. Is there a book two?

Audrey Lusk did a good job with the narration.

What made the experience of listening to Zonaton the most enjoyable?

I loved the relationship building. It was strange, odd, bordered on creepy at first then turned into a form of purity that was very sweet.

What did you like best about this story?

Zonaton hands down was the best part. I just fell in love with him. He was so protective of the her. But I also loved the world building. I had a vivid picture of the set up and how things worked.
