Literally The Worst People in the World.

When I see stuff like, "LOLing @libs getting triggered by old ppl dyin" it makes me think that this conflict with you might not be as simple as I first thought.  You have to be really messed up, jaded, or broken to think this way.  Maybe I've been too hard on you.  Maybe it's not your fault that your experiences shaped you into someone who could say something like this with what people are going through right now.  Look, I get that older people are at the end of their lives and are likely to die soon either way, but the time they have left still has value.  Those people still matter.

I would like to believe that you faced some messed-up stuff in your life that shaped you into this, but if this is just who you are and nothing made you this way, that's a whole other conversation.

A very small portion of us might spend too much on social programs trying to save everyone. A very tiny fraction of us would like to get rid of law enforcement in the military completely. But both of those flaws exist and only the tiniest fraction of our side. And yet, you zoom in on those people and ignore the rest of us to have more moderate views and pretend that we are just a party of socialists and anarchists when you know that isn't the truth.  The difference between us is that we can admit our flaws and acknowledge them and try to be better. You can't do that.  Also, we can honestly say that our hearts are in the right place even if we don't go about our altruistic goals in the most practical ways all the time. But as the party of hate, the party of greed, and the party of cynicism, you can't say honestly say your hearts are in the right place.

When you claim Lincoln as one of your own, you disregard the political shift that happened starting with the FDR Administration. If you put Republicans from Lincoln's day in a time machine and brought them here, they would not be Republicans. They back to Lincoln when he ended slavery. This wasn't just Progressive for its time, it was revolutionary.   The only upside to doing that was to be decent human beings. Not only would Lincoln and the Republicans of his day not be Republicans now, they would be joining the Black Lives Matter protests.

Any average person can help with contact tracing.  It's just legwork, emails, and phone calls.  That aspect of fighting a virus could have been crowdsourced, but testing cannot. And without the testing component, contact tracing becomes completely irrelevant. All Trump had to do was give us aggressive testing program backed by the federal government, Nationwide, we could have done the rest ourselves.  Even now he could deploy that resource and save countless lives as we continue to lose thousands every week. Some days we have 800. Sometimes we have nine hundred deaths. Sometimes we have weeks like this week what we had three days over 1,000, including one that was 1200 +.  When he's in office, we will never see a testing program like this because starting it now would be admitting that it was necessary, and admitting that it was necessary with mean it was necessary months ago and he didn't do it. He won't do it because it might make him look bad. But how does it look when the virus is just allowed to rip through this country unchecked?

According to one listener, Trump supporters go to Fox News for talking points to use against  liberals like myself, not actual news.   Fox news has deputized its viewers as propaganda agents.  They know Fox is lying, but they see it as a good thing because it provides a counterbalance to the lies spread by the liberal media. Apparently for Trump supporters, two wrongs make a right.

A came across a piece that describes a particular kind of Trump supporter more accurately and thoroughly than I have ever seen them described before, so I couldn't resist putting up an episode about it.  The central theme of the piece is their hatred of weakness, which, in the same way that the most homophobic guy in any group of Trump supporters is guaranteed to be the gay one, masks a fear of being seen as weak.  And, sorry, I couldn't help it, I had to put it up with the most clickbait-y title ever.

Oh, you thought Coronavirus was over just because they talked about it in the past tense at the convention? You thought that Trump and his cabal of craven scumbags had achieved victory over the virus just because they said they did?  

Next, you're going to tell me that YOU ACTUALLY BELIEVE TRUMP, who said that the Democrats have destroyed their cities (which is the exact title of one of his campaign videos), there is a radical Invasion by antifa (which doesn't even exist as an actual group), that the suburbs are going to get canceled (yes, he said that) and black lives matter is coming for your houses (Trump's exact words) DIDN'T WANT TO START A PANIC!

When you've consistently made a heavily armed audience as scared as possible of everyone who isn't as white or as Christian as they are and then tell them an invasion by black left wing radicals is in progress (when it is NOT), exactly WHAT DID YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?  The next full episode will be a fact check of Fox's coverage of what has happened since the murder of George Floyd. It's an exercise in futility, of course.  rump supporters either know about the lying and don't care, or would never believe a fact check from someone like me.

An accurate, complete knowledge of black history in this country could keep misinformed folks from taking those next steps toward becoming full-blown racists.  It would also help us see the condition of our communities in the context of how they got that way.  Unfortunately, Trump and his supporters aren't interested in any of that and will do anything they can to try to bury America's sins.  It's vitally important that we don't let them do that.  We can still heal the racial divides we created through our atrocities, but we are running out of time.

Trump has been unmasked and so have you.  The difference is that you still have a choice of what face you show the world. Supporting Donald Trump after today will reveal who you really are.
