Little known scholarships are available even for trade schools – or colleges. 85% of scholarships are based on test scores. This is the college rules! College scores help the rankings of the school.

Miscellaneous Scholarship 

  1. Culinary scholarships
  2. Scholarships for Cancer survivors
  3. Veterans – GI Bill, or if there has been a death of a loved one in the military
  4. Students with special needs, blind or deaf, or disabled
  5. Search for a “GPA” or “Hispanic scholarships” Or minority scholarships, or “scholarships for women.”

        2. Federal aid and FAFSA must be filled out October 1st! Be sure to sign up early. Every year renewal.

        4. Cost containment scholarship (on previous podcast HERE)
        5.      Opportunity

          1. The student has an opportunity to qualify
          2. Federal work-study programs
          3. Internships that colleges offer
          4. Research for grad schools
          5. Employer assistance program – if you are an employee you can have college paid for
            1. Banks, large stores, restaurants, grocery stores
            2.      Private

              1. 5% of total scholarship money
              2. Fastweb.com is a place to start, scholarships.com, princetonreview.com, scholarship monkey, scholarshiptoolkit.com
              3. Set up a separate email for scholarship opportunities
              4. Employer have private scholarships
              5.      Institutional

                1. The big money at the college – colleges give the most money
                2. Funding is determined by test scores
                3. Additional CSS – Financial aid profile – private schools require this.
                4. Whatever scholarships you receive you must have the minimum score that is required. Scores for entrance is a level playing field. High schools score kids differently. That is the only way these scholarships can make the determination. It is important for students to keep their GPA up as well. Test prep should be part of your daily school. Critical thinking and logic is an important to discern.
