Having successfully infiltrated the King of Mississippi's estate (by letting a sharp stake infiltrate her chest), Sookie executes another dangerous plan to rescue Bill. Then she makes her way home, and there are thugs waiting to attack her everywhere she goes. Unfortunately her relationship with her deadly boyfriend and his boss are getting strained.

Sookie and Alcide's night of clubbing has tired them out, so they relax by hiding a dead body that they found in Alcide's apartment. This refreshes them enough for another visit to Club Dead. Sookie manages to get a lead on Bill and an entry into the King of Mississippi's estate by the tactic of intercepting a stake meant for another.
