Locked On Angels - Daily Podcast On The Los Angeles Angels

Los Angeles Angels can't hold the lead in extra innings against the Tampa Bay Rays, as they drop game 3 of the series 4-3. Mike Trout homered and placed himself in the Halo history books, tieing Garret Anderson for most runs scored in franchise history. Mike Mayers was good through 5 innings against Shane McClanahan, but the Angels lose on a walk-off error. We'll break down the game for you with highlights and lowlights!

Then, would you have rather seen Ray Montgomery or Phil Nevin take over as the Interim Manager of the Angels? Jon and Mike share their thoughts on why Montgomery was not chosen to take over once Joe Maddon was let go.

Plus, Mike Scioscia spoke to CBS Sports LA about Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and the potential sale of the team. We'll share our thoughts on his comments and ask a very important question regarding Scioscia and the Angels future! Would you want to see him come back?

The Los Angeles Angels had a fairly uneventful loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night, dropping the first of a four-game set 2-1. Tucker Davidson was not quite as sharp as last week's start, and Mike Trout mustered the only RBI for the Halos. We take a look at the positive takeaways as we struggle to get through the rest of this season together!

Then, former Angels manager Joe Maddon spoke with the Tampa Bay Times about the issues within the Angels organization and spoke to some of the team's deficiencies and struggles over the few years. We've got Maddon's comments and share our thoughts on what he had to say in segment 2.

Plus, have we seen the best of Shohei Ohtani, or will he continue to amaze us in the coming years? Mike seems to think that he will decline, but Jon thinks otherwise. Check out the conversation and share your thoughts on the matter with us!

The Los Angeles Angels were only able to walk away from the weekend series with the Detroit Tigers with one win, thanks to a complete game shutout from Patrick Sandoval. It was an incredible performance from the young starter that really showed the kind of pitcher he truly is when he pitches efficiently and deep into games. Unfortunately, it was one of the only highlights this weekend, but we did get a healthy Mike Trout back! He looked to be in great shape and played well, and Mike and Jon will share their thoughts on the weekend series in segment 1!

Then, it's MAILBAG MONDAY! We've got your questions and comments ready to go, covering next year's shortstop, this year's awful offense, and much more!

Los Angeles Angels pitching gave up 4 home runs to the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, putting the game out of reach despite a late-game rally. While Touki Toussaint, Mike Mayers, and Jaime Barria weren't effective against the Ms, Luis Rengifo, Shohei Ohtani, and David Fletcher still had impressive showings. It really felt like Phil Nevin threw in the towel way too early, and Mike and Jon will share their thoughts about yesterday's game.

Then, how realistic that the Angels could get back into the race? Well, we ran the numbers, and we'll give you the winning percentage they would need to even come close.

Plus, with this season going the way it has, there's been much talk about whether the Angels should tank and strive for a high draft pick. Mike and Jon have put in the research and will share why a high draft pick doesn't always guarantee success.

The Los Angeles Angels seem to be cursed when it comes to the 9th inning, as the Halos drop game 2 against the Seatle Mariners. The struggles continue despite a strong start from Jose Suarez, who was perfect into the 6th inning. Mike and Jon will break down what went wrong, bad umpiring, and much more!

Then, why in the world would a big free agent want to sign to the Halos and come to Anaheim? We've got the reasons why!

Plus, will Jared Walsh be the 1st baseman come next year? His recent issues at the plate have been difficult on him, and we'll discuss whether or not he will remain a significant part of the Angels' lineup next year.

The Los Angeles Angels absolutely embarrass themselves in the 9th inning of a tight pitcher's duel between Shohei Ohtani and Luis Castillo. What started out as a fun back and forth game turned into a complete defensive meltdown, as the Seattle Mariners take game 1 of the 3-game set. Jon and Mike will break down the highs and very low lows of the game for you in segment 1!

Then, how much money would it cost for the Angels to go over the luxury tax, and how much money have they spent on players who've spent time on the IL over the last ten years? We've got the numbers, and you'll be surprised when you hear them.

Plus, we believe David Fletcher is the key to the Halos' success, and we'll tell you why in segment 3!
