THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!
The Brewers' season concluded on Wednesday with a whimper in a 4-2 defeat to the DBacks as they avoid the sweep with some late heroics from their young bats. Now the Brewers prepare to go into offseason mode and find a way to improve the roster heading into 2023.
Dom Cotroneo (@Dom_Cotroneo) attempts to make sense of the odd season that was and prepares a blueprint of ideas the Brewers could do to get back into the playoffs for the 2023 season. Obviously they need offense, but more homers or more on-base? More average or more speed? More defense or more pitching? We attempt to cover a few of these topics.
Also, this is my final episode as host of Locked On Brewers as we enter into hibernation mode. I want to thank you for trusting me with your daily Brewers fix to keep you locked on the Brew Crew all season long. I hope you learned something and had fun along the way ... and keep on swinging!

Despite a thrilling come-from-behind win over the Diamondbacks in walk-off fashion, the Brewers only got to enjoy it for about 10 minutes as the Phillies defeated the Astros to officially clinch a wild card spot. It's rather ironic that the Brewers get on track with another late-inning rally - the very tactic that escaped them for most of the second half.
Now the Brewers are just two days away from the offseason. Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) reacts to the game and the season in general. We hear the comments from the clubhouse after the game as well and Christian Yelich was very candid assessing the season for the Crew.
We also compile a few items from the wish list on twitter for what the Brewers need in 2023: average? power? pitching? extensions? A lot to cover for the day the Brewers were eliminated.

What's left to say? The Brewers are officially facing elimination after falling flat over the weekend against the Marlins, dropping three of four games to fall virtually out of the wild card race. Now the Brewers must win all three remaining games against the DBacks and the Phillies must lose the three remaining games against the Astros.
The odds are certainly stacked against them, but how did we get here? What's wrong with the offense? Are we properly appreciating the pitching this team has? Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) sees your concerns and wants to rant with you.

Former Brewer outfielder Avisail Garcia made his return to American Family Field for the first time as a Marlin on Thursday and announced himself with the biggest swing of the night for the fish. Garcia connected on his first career grand slam on a 1-2, two out offering from Freddy Peralta which turned out to be the difference of the game.
The swat erases a brilliant start from Eric Lauer in only his second game since returning from the injured list. He did not walk a batter over five innings with nine strikeouts to dominate the Marlins. It wasn't until Peralta couldn't escape the 8th that trouble occurred against the Crew, but Garcia made Peralta pay on a poorly located fastball.
Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) always tries to take a positive spin on these topics, but this one is a little tougher. Yet still, we always look for the silver lining. As disappointing it is to not get the chance to flip the Phillies out of the wild card, the Brewers can do it to them on the final day of the season at this rate, they wouldn't mind as long as the Crew is in.
