The Brewers salvaged the weekend for Wisconsin sports claiming a series two games to one against the Cincinnati Reds. Sunday's victory was propelled by the long ball with a pair from Rowdy Tellez and another from Willy Adames. The 7-6 final got a little tense in the final three innings, but Dom understands why.
We take a peek at the playoff landscape with what the Brewers have facing them in the final three weeks of the season. Today they finally get to enjoy only their second off day in the last month. What does the rotation look like after this? Who are the Cardinals starting this week? What is the target win total for the Crew to make the playoffs?
@Dom_Cotroneo breaks it all down in this episode. *EDITOR NOTE: There will not be an episode tomorrow, we are taking the day off with the Brewers. You'll survive and off day without us.

To say the Brewers "needed" the sweep over the Giants in the fashion they did it would be an understatement. Corbin Burnes quite literally put the Brewers on his back in game one with 14 strikeouts on 100 pitches exactly. The start was his most dominant of the season and it could not have come at a more perfect time for the Brew Crew, given what transpired in the second game.
Freddy Peralta's start was cut short due to right shoulder fatigue. His last four fastballs did not cross 88 MPH and Craig Counsell decided to lift Peralta in the third inning. The Brewers' bullpen rose to the occasion with six strong frames of relief to keep the Brewers in the lead for the entire contest.
Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) takes you through the impressive stats from Burnes' performance, the implications of Freddy's injury, and what the Brewers have waiting in the Reds this weekend.

The Brewers closed their last multi-city road trip of the year with a dud, losing both series and dropping the finale 10-4 in which their starter got hurt, their offense was nonexistent, and now have two play two games with a team that has had their number this season.
Despite all of the adversity, the Brewers have 20 of their final 26 at home, and it's time to show why that is such an advantage for the Crew. They have Freddy Peralta and Corbin Burnes on the mound today for the rescheduled lockout-induced twin bill with the Giants.

From a 6-1 lead entering the eighth inning, to a 10-7 defeat in ten innings ... the Brewers dug the hole they are in a little bit deeper on their chase for a wild card berth. Ryan McMahon hit the game-tying and game-winning homers in the eighth and tenth innings to shock the Brew Crew and level the series at a game apiece. All of this occurring as soon as Brandon Woodruff was lifted from the game after seven dominant innings over the Rockies.
There was a lot to say about the decision by manager Craig Counsell on pulling Woodruff after he was through seven innings on 91 pitches, but Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) lets you know why the move actually made sense. We also hear straight from Brandon Woodruff for his thoughts on the matter.
There were multiple failures along the way, but the Brewers have been here before. They didn't get any help on the out-of-town-scoreboard ... so they need to take matters into their own hands.

The Brewers enjoyed some work on holiday from Denver. Despite trailing 3-0 in the first inning, the Brew Crew flexed the comeback muscles again and won 6-4 over the Rockies. Adrian Houser turned in a helluva performance despite how he started the game. After the first five batters reached against him, he retired the last 15 in order to earn the win thanks to his offense stepping up.
Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) analyzes the little victories that summed up to a huge Brewers win ... and why he thinks a win in this fashion is important for the final race. Plus, the Brewers watched good news happen on the out of town scoreboard as we dive into the remaining schedules for the Phillies, Padres and Brewers.

Merrill Kelly dominated the Brewers over the course of seven shutout innings in a 5-0 DBacks win over the Crew. Brandon Woodruff worked into the sixth inning and wasn't his usual sharp self in the defeat. At the end of the day, the Brewers allowed the DBacks to connect on six two-out hits, which produced all five of the runs on the ledger for Arizona.
Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) takes a "shorter" pod today to rant with the fans about the urgency facing this team after an absolutely deflating loss. It's not catastrophic by any means, but with 32 games to go, the Brewers are still looking to flip the swtich.

See what we did there? "walk" the plank? The Brewers drew nine walks in a 6-1 win over the Pirates on Sunday to earn the series win and a winning homestand. Freddy Peralta was short but effective with five strong innings and 74 pitches, but the Brewers felt his health in September is more important than a few extra innings in August.
Now the Crew enters what was the best month of the year in both 2018 and 2019 - September, AKA Craig-tember. The Brewers have 33 games to do something special with down the stretch to catch the [insert Phillies, Padres, Cardinals here] to try and make it five consecutive postseasons. It all starts with a young and hungry DBacks squad waiting in the desert.

Billie Joe Armstrong sang "Wake Me Up When September Ends." Right now, the Brewers want that changed to August. They are going to have a sub-.500 record for the month, lost an opportunity to gain ground on the Cardinals and keep pace with the Padres, but can still find a way to win another series against Pittsburgh today.
The Brewers entire offense was contained in one swing by Kolten Wong for Tuesday's defeat. The bullpen faltered again, but you can see why: the Brewers simply can't create separation right now. Despite all of the struggles and hardships for the Crew ... they are still within striking distance of a playoff spot. Crazier things have happened.

They certainly keep things entertaining don't they? The Brewers needed all nine innings to tie the game and eventually win it with the long ball in the bottom of the ninth thanks to Keston Hiura's 14th homer of the season in a 7-5 win over the Pirates. Garrett Mitchell chose a perfect time for his first MLB home run with a shot to right-center field to tie the game in the eighth inning. It will go down as one of the moments and images of the season when Mitchell saluted the crowd for a curtain call out of the dugout.
The win was especially important with the Padres defeating the Giants, so the Brewers didn't lose any ground in the wild card chase. They are essentially two games back with 35 games to go of a playoff spot. Another factor for the win was the Brewer offense picking up an "off-axis" Corbin Burnes at the moment.
Dom (@Dom_Cotroneo) goes through an injury update, three plays you may have forgotten about, and a mini rant about why you play all nine innings. Be sure you follow our show account too, @LockedOnBrewers on Twitter.

Christian Yelich is heating up, the offense is beginning to click again, and tonight is a Corbin Burnes day! The Brewers took two of three from the Cubs over the weekend, and were two swings away from going three-for-three against Chicago (Ian Happ got in the way on Friday.) We briefly look back at each of the three games this weekend and how Dom feels the Brewers should have won all three.
Nonetheless, the race is about to really heat up with what's happening in San Diego and the Brewers' current stretch of lighter opponents for the next two weeks.
