The NHL and the NHLPA have agreed upon and officially announced a Return to Play plan following an abrupt end to the 2019-20 regular season due to COVID-19. What does it mean for the Boston Bruins? The Boston Bruins voted in favor of the NHL's 24-team playoff format, but likely shared similar concerns with the Tampa Bay Lightning, 1 of 2 teams to vote against it. Host Ian McLaren breaks down the major issues as well as the conditions under which players might soon be able to skate. Plus, we jump in the time machine to remember what happened when the NHL tried to resume play amid a global pandemic back in 1919. Under the proposed 24-team playoff format, the Boston Bruins would have to earn the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference despite leading the NHL in points at the COVID-19 induced break. Ian breaks down the proposal and what it means for the Bruins. Plus some mailbag questions and please don't call Jake DeBrusk a whipping boy.

The Boston Bruins are often criticized for apparent whiffs in the 1st round of the 2015 NHL Draft, so Ian is asking what if the Bruins had drafted Barzal, Connor and Chabot instead of Zboril, DeBrusk and Senyshyn? It's not as cut and dry as you might think. Plus, Ray Bourque wants Torey Krug to be a Bruins for life, and you need to read Akim Aliu's Player's Tribune piece.

Ian is joined by Rachel and Danielle of Locked on Flyers to discuss "what if the Boston Bruins hadn't blown a 3-0 series lead to Philadelphia in 2010?" Points are raised about Marc Savard, David Krejci, Tuukka Rask, Tim Thomas and a big offseason trade with the Florida Panthers that was key to 2011 success. Plus some notes on the NHL's plan for a 24-team playoff.
