Locked On Bruins - Daily Podcast On The Boston Bruins

This weekend had it all for the Boston Bruins: wins over the Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes, an Atlantic Division title, tying the franchise record for wins in a season, David Pastrnak hitting the 50-goal mark, gloves dropped, and huge efforts from all corners of the lineup.

Ian McLaren breaks down who stepped up in the wins and what to make of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and Hampus Lindholm sitting out Sunday's game in Raleigh.

Plus, a quick look at the week ahead, including the potential signing of college standout Mason Lohrei.

The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens don't meet nearly enough these days. And although there's a hug gap in the standings between the two rivals, Thursday's game did not disappoint.

Brad Marchand artfully came to the defense of Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak set a new career high in goals, Jake DeBrusk kept rolling, and Tyler Bertuzzi scored his first in black and gold, all of which we love to see.

Ian McLaren performs his weekly Cup check, a look at the top 5 teams around the NHL and where the Bruins rank among them. Plus, a quick preview of two big games coming up this weekend against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes.

Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney has made some great trades in recent years. One move he didn't make is paying off these days, and it's time to take a moment to appreciate Jake DeBrusk.

Brad Marchand was also instrumental in a 2-1 win over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, and this team will be even more dangerous when he feels fully back to normal after offseason double hip surgery.

Plus, the PK is thriving even without Derek Forbort, Linus Ullmark somehow improved his league-leading numbers, and the first round opponent watch appears to be down to 3 teams: Islanders, Panthers, or Penguins.

The Boston Bruins need 10 wins in their final 13 games in order to take the NHL's all time wins record from the 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings and the 2018-19 Tampa Bay Lightning.

Ian McLaren looks at the remaining games and maps out which games can and should be won. Upcoming games against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs, and New Jersey Devils could be a problem, and load management will also be a factor.

Plus, Jeremy Swayman is the NHL's 3rd star of the week, and a preview of tonight's game against the Ottawa Senators.

The vibes weren't great for the Boston Bruins last week after losing in Detroit and Chicago, but everyone's feeling a lot better after wins in Winnipeg, Minnesota, and Buffalo.

The Bruins outscored those teams 15-2, with Jeremy Swayman recording a pair of shutouts.

They're also getting contributions from all areas of the lineup.

What, though, will Jim Montgomery do when everyone is healthy? Where does Taylor Hall fit, and what about a red-hot Trent Frederic?

Plus, a look at the week ahead featuring 4 Eastern opponents.

Swayman also tied the previous franchise goalie for wins under 25.

Plus, a shoutout to the third line of Tyler Bertuzzi, Charlie Coyle, and Trent Frederic, and Pavel Zacha sets a career high in goals.

The first place Boston Bruins losing to the lowly Chicago Blackhawks?!?! Yup, that happened, and Ian McLaren is here to break it down. What went wrong, what does it mean, and should we be worried?

Captain Patrice Bergeron had some pointed remarks after the game, calling it a "reality check." To doubt the Bruins right now is to doubt his leadership, and we're far from that point.

The result should give head coach Jim Montgomery reason to doubt a Connor Clifton - Derek Forbort pairing, while the third line offered a bright spot.

Plus, a quick preview of Thursday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
