It finally happened. Shohei Ohtani hit his first Dodgers home run at Dodger Stadium against the San Francisco Giants. It was a monstrous home run and part of a day where Ohtani had two hits and two runs scored. Also, the Dodgers have hit against left-handed pitching well so far this season. Is that just a small sample size or will they be able to sustain it? Lastly, Dinelson Lamet got the save on Wednesday, becoming the fourth Dodger to record a save and putting the team at 40% of the way to Jeff's prediction of 10 players with a save. What have you thought of the bullpen usage so far?

Dodgers complete the sweep of the Giants 5-4. They have scored 5 or more in the first 9 games. Shohei Ohtani  hits his first home run in Dodgers blue a 430 ft bomb. Miguel Rojas also went deep. Tyler Glasnow got the W in spite of not having great command of the curveball he went 6 surrendering 3 runs on 4 hits.

The Dodgers once again scored five runs, Mookie Betts once again homered, and the Dodgers once again won. Even with Shohei Ohtani still struggling, the Dodgers got contributions from the bottom of the order. The offense is fun. Also, the bullpen game was a success overall but is it a sign of more to come? Could the Dodgers be planning a six-man rotation this year? Lastly, the Dodgers added Taylor Trammell and Nick Ramirez to the roster. Are they going to help out or just here for a bit?

The Dodgers got big contributions from their 'Big 4' at the top of the order in a win over the Giants. While Shohei Ohtani has struggled, he still was able to drive in a run and score a run. On the pitching side, James Paxton went 5 innings and allowed no runs to cap a first time through the rotation that was pretty good. Of course we talked about Bobby Miller too. Lastly, Jason Heyward could be injured. Could we see Andy Pages? And the Dodgers are going with a bullpen game. Too early for that?

Dodgers take care of the Giants at the Ravine comfortably 8-3 as the top of the line-up went 8 for 13 scoring 6 of the 8 runs. Mookie Betts had a double and triple scoring 3 times , Freddie Freeman had 3 hits and 2 rbi and Teoscar Hernandez hits his 4th home run in 4 games with 2 aboard. James Paxton got the win going 5 giving up no runs on 4 hits while walking 5 and striking out 5.

The Dodgers ended up taking three of four from the Cardinals over Opening Weekend. The starting pitching was good but not what was talked about as much. There was some lineup issues and bullpen issues. For the lineup, is the bottom of the order going to be ok? For the bullpen, is it a matter of needing more talent or just needing more healthy? We answer those questions and more, and also talk about Walker Buehler's rehab start and the decision to bring up Nabil Crismatt.

Dodgers again had to rally late in the game after falling behind 4-0. On a day when Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman had just one hit between them. The Dodgers scratched across 2 in the 6th on a double from Teoscar Hernandez  and a James Outman fielders choice. Then in the 8th Teoscar Hernandez did it again with his 3rd home run of the season to make it 4-3 then Max Muncy off the bench launched one to right field with a man aboard to give the Dodgers the lead. 5-4

Mookie Betts was again on fire getting on base 5 times with 3 hits 3 runs and his 4th homer of the season which sparked a 9th inning rally. Max Muncy would knock in Freddie Freeman (on his bobblehead night) which tied the game at 5. The Cardinals scored in the 10th and fielders choice and the Dodgers could not answer. Yoshinobu Yamamoto looked really good, after a rough outing in South Korea against the Padres, he went 5 giving up just 2 hits. Will Smith and Freddie Freeman had 3 a piece.

The Dodgers won on Opening Day behind the strength of their 'Big 3' on offense, as Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman both homered and the trio combined for six runs scored. It was a fun Opening Day with a new look at how the players were introduced, and all the usual trimmings of the big day. Tyler Glasnow and Ryan Yarbrough were all the Dodgers needed on the mound. With multiple relievers that can go more than one inning, are the Dodgers built for more games like this? Lastly, we got some updates on Walker Buehler, Brusdar Graterol and Blake Treinen.
