How does that change the approach the Islanders should have to the trade deadline, the rest of the season and even whether Nelson should play in the 4 Nations Tournament.

Plus, who are some other players the Isles could and should look to move before the trade deadline and what are some of the obstacles Lou Lamoriello put in place to make that tougher?

Plus we update Cole Eiserman and Danny Nelson's performance at the WJCs and preview this weekend's home and home series with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The New York Islanders have short term and long term issues to figure out. In the short term, Patrick Roy cannot keep starting Ilya Sorokin in every game as the goalie is clearly wearing down after 11 straight starts. But with Semyon Varlamov on LTIR, the team doesn't seem to trust Marcus Hogberg to start a game. We discuss what has to happen to fix this problem.

Plus, the contracts of Brock Nelson and Kyle Palmieri expire after this season. We discuss what Lou Lamoriello should do about these veterans and some other players who could potentially be traded to help this team get younger, faster and more skilled.

And we have our weekly Farm Report on all things Bridgeport Islanders.
