Locked On Jets - Daily Podcast On The New York Jets

On today's episode of Locked On Jets, John gives out awards for the major categories, Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Player of the Year. One of these categories is obvious. One has a few possibilities. Another, the defense, was so difficult to find a standout that leaving it vacant was a consideration. Still, John found a way to award all three categories along with an overall Player of the Year.

Yesterday was close out day for the Jets. The players cleaned out their lockers. Many of them along with Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh spoke to the media. Most of the comments from these events are filled with cliches, but sometimes there is an interesting point or two made. On today's podcast we search for significant comments from the season ending presser.

The Jets finished their season with a 4-13 record as they fell yesterday to the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo clinched a second consecutive AFC East title by a 27-10 score. On a day where they Jets were undermanned on offense, they were only able to put up 53 net yards. This type of ugly performance gave them no chance. On today's episode John breaks down the game.

The Jets turned in an inspired effort on Sunday as they almost shocked the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs rallied from a 14 point second half deficit, and as he has done so many times, Tom Brady put together a game-winning drive against the Jets. Still, there were silver linings. None was as significant as Zach Wilson looking comfortable in the pocket and putting together maybe his best performance of the season. On today's show John talks about all of this along with a controversial decision the coaching staff made.
