The QB Carousel in the NFL is moving at a rapid pace and it seems like Kyler Murray to the Minnesota Vikings is the next big move. This move makes perfect sense for the Vikings and for Kyler as it represents a short-term boost and a potential long-term solution. Kirk Cousins to the Las Vegas Raiders makes less sense as both sides need something else than what is presented with this pairing. Malik Willis to the Miami Dolphins makes a ton of sense on the other hand because if it hits, Willis is the QB of the future and if it bombs, the Dolphins are set for a top pick, but there is a world when the Dolphins stay stuck in the middle. The New York Jets trading for Geno Smith was not wise, but considering their immense draft capital in 2027, it might be a spot where the Jets can't go wrong. Finally, Aaron Rodgers to the Pittsburgh Steelers is bound to happen again, but they would be wise to add a more realistic development option via trade. Jacoby Brissett makes zero sense for the Arizona Cardinals who are stuck in an identity crisis.

The Baltimore Ravens did the unthinkable on Tuesday night when they backed out of the Maxx Crosby trade. Things looked even worse when they immediately signed Trey Hendrickson on Wednesday morning, but was this actually a smart move for the Ravens? From the Raiders perspective, this won't affect their moves all that much either, but it does severely limit their ability to rebuild. Where will Crosby go next though? If he doesn't stay in Vegas, the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots are in a prime position to snag the all-pro edge rusher. Finally, the Indianapolis Colts missed out on Hendrickson, but got a deal done with Daniel Jones. However, this is another move in a sting of moves that is bad for the Colts who continue to overvalue their own players and the wrong ones at that.

Maxx Crosby’s blockbuster trade drama rocks the NFL as the Baltimore Ravens abruptly rescind their deal with the Las Vegas Raiders—citing a failed physical, but with rumors swirling of bad faith and buyer’s remorse. Trey Hendrickson heads to Baltimore on a massive new contract, while Crosby faces uncertain future in Las Vegas. Did the Ravens pull a “Bush League” move to protect their assets, or is this smart front office maneuvering? The fallout sparks outrage across Raider Nation and creates ripple effects for teams like the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys.
Tony Wiggins, David Harrison, Kevin Ostreicher, and other Locked On hosts break down the business implications, PR fallout, and potential league-wide rule changes. Key topics include the mechanics of NFL trades, the impact on salary cap management, and surprise roster moves like Geno Smith’s return to the New York Jets. Will the Maxx Crosby saga reshape how NFL teams wheel and deal, or is this just the new reality of free agency?

The New York Jets have their quarterback for 2026 and it is a reunion with Geno Smith after the Las Vegas Raiders sent the veteran in a pick swap back to where he was drafted. While it is a fun story, both the Jets and Smith are doomed here. The Raiders were smart to get anything for a player they were going to release and adds to their smart rebuild. Two teams in the NFL really stood out as those who made a big impression early in free agency, but not for the same reason. The Pittsburgh Steelers made really smart moves to bolster their roster while the Arizona Cardinals took the worst path possible for where their franchise is at. The AFC South got more competitive this week as well as the Tennessee Titans made a wave of moves to improve their team and the Houston Texans, while starting slow, rebounded on Day 2 in a big area of need.
