The Seattle Seahawks had two massive extensions they needed to get done this offseason and the first was knocked off the list when they gave wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba $40 million a year on Monday. This was an expensive extension, but one that needed to happen and the Seahawks were smart to get this done as soon as they possibly could. Now, they move on the cornerback Devon Witherspoon. The Los Angeles Rams were certainly affected by their division mate as Puka Nacua will be the next big-name wideout needing an extension and we should expect one before Week 1. The San Francisco 49ers don't have a young wideout worth that kind of money on the team right now so they went out and got two veterans in Mike Evans and Christian Kirk, but that was a smart move by them considering the circumstances. Finally, the Arizona Cardinals have some good young weapons, but still seem to be behind schedule for what their roster shows somehow.

NFL contenders rewrite their playbook as the offseason forces bold moves from the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills, and San Francisco 49ers. Front office decisions—like Kansas City’s secondary overhaul, Philadelphia’s defensive load-up despite offensive struggles, and the record-setting contract for Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba—raise big questions about each team’s championship strategy.
Tony Wiggins and Julian Council break down pivotal roster shakeups, including San Francisco’s gamble on veteran leadership with Mike Evans and Christian Kirk, and Buffalo’s attempt to rejuvenate Josh Allen’s supporting cast with D.J. Moore. The discussion digs into Baltimore’s post-Ozzie Newsome identity crisis, the rumored A.J. Brown trade, and whether Los Angeles’ aggressive pursuit of elite receivers is sustainable. Which NFL powerhouse is best positioned to stay on top—and whose window might be closing?

The Cincinnati Bengals took small steps, but haven't added the needed defensive talent at multiple positions to feel confident they can snatch a playoff birth. Similarly, The Baltimore Ravens have had an up and down offseason so far and looking at the moves they have made, it seems clear they have not done enough to put this team back in a position to make the postseason after missing in 2025. The Kansas City Chiefs also have not quite down enough and still have major holes at some of the biggest positions of need. In the NFC, the Detroit Lions want to be built through the trenches and they don't have enough muscle there to get back while their division mates, the Minnesota Vikings, fixed their one key issue even if they haven't had a lot of big-name signings outside of Kyler Murray. Finally, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting further away while the rest of the NFC South is taking steps forward.

Can the Tennessee Titans or Minnesota Vikings pull off a Super Bowl surge from the NFL Draft’s fourth and eighteenth picks? Tony Wiggins and Matt Williamson explore bold parallels between last year’s Patriots and Seahawks playoff runs and this year’s rookie-driven Titans and Vikings rebuilds. With Cam Ward’s fearless play, the Titans face choices on whether to weaponize their QB through trades or build patiently, while the Vikings confront quarterback drama and the Kyler Murray-JJ McCarthy dilemma.
Key discussion points include the New England Patriots’ aggressive pursuit of AJ Brown, Seahawks’ silent offseason with limited draft capital, and the Denver Broncos’ acquisition of Jaylen Waddle as they chase AFC contention. The departure of legendary Eagles O-line coach Jeff Stoutland sparks debate on Philadelphia's future in the trenches. Roster moves, star receivers, and head-coaching strategy take center stage as the hosts break down which teams are poised to rewrite NFL expectations.

There are young quarterbacks all over the league that need to be supported to be their best including Bo Nix with the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have done a great job putting a Super Bowl level team around their young passer. The New England Patriots, however, need to do more for Drake Maye if they want to get back to a title shot. The Washington Commanders have a second-year passer in Jayden Daniels who had a terrible season in 2025, they did not do what they needed to so far to make sure he can step back up in Year 3. The Las Vegas Raiders are about to bring in a rookie quarterback in Fernando Mendoza, but they are not ready to support him. Finally, three quarterbacks going into Year 2, Cam Ward with the Tennessee Titans, Jaxson Dart with the New York Giants and Tyler Shough with the New Orleans Saints, all got help in different ways, but was it enough?

The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a Super Bowl championship and as we typically see, have lost a lot of talent. At this stag of the offseason, they have simply lost too much on the roster to be considered favorites to repeat and may be smelling their own salts a bit too much to take the necessary action. The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to get back to the big game, but have let their defensive talent fall off too much for that to happen. In Baltimore, not only have the Ravens let their reputation take a hit, but their roster talent has as well. The Detroit Lions fell off hard in 2025 and so far it is hard to say they have taken the necessary action to get them back in the playoffs in 2026. Jacksonville is hoping to take a step forward this season, but their offseason has been too much about resting on their laurels as they let talent leave for nothing. Finally, the Cincinnati Bengals need to restock their defense and while they have made some moves, much more is required at certain positions of need like linebacker.
