Locked On Nuggets - Daily Podcast On The Denver Nuggets

In this episode, I share my notes on the tough loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at Pepsi Center. Jokic really seemed off with his timing and decision making and Murray's defense was as bad as his offense was good. Most interesting and most important of all, Denver really struggled once the Wolves went to spread PnR in the 4th. Denver tried a few different looks defensively but it wasn't enough to get the stops they needed.

In the 200th episode of the show, I take a look at the team over the last 10 games and break down the 10 mos important players over the last 10 games. Jamal Murray and Trey Lyles can't miss from 3, Mason Plumlee is a defensive beast, and Gary Harris is adding new pieces to his game.

In this episode I share a lot of interesting notes on the loss to the OKC Thunder. The late game decision making of Will Barton, Jamal Murray, and Michael Malone are all discussed. I also talk about the emergence of Torrey Craig and what the Nuggets should do with him. He sure looks like an NBA player.

In this episode I discuss my notes on Denver's big come-from-behind over the New Orleans Pelicans and all of the interesting things that happened at Pepsi Center Friday night. Torrey Craig got called up from the G-league in the middle of the night and 24 hours later he's getting his first NBA start. Mason Plumlee out-dueled DeMarcus Cousins in the 4th quarter and overtime. And Trey Lyles has Nuggets fans dreaming big as he continues to make everything he puts up.

In this weekend summit episode of the Locked On Nuggets podcast, I am joined by Daniel Lewis and Gordon Gross of DenverStiffs.com. The three of us share our thoughts on the recent 6-game Nuggets road trip and say whether we are encouraged or discouraged by the way it went down. We play Devil's Advocate about Murray's hot shooting, Beasley's spot in the rotation, and Denver's record by the end of December.

At the 38 minute mark we move on to Star Wars related topics including our favorite Star Wars characters, which player is Denver's protagonist, which person(s)/team is Denver's antagonist, and which player is likely to go to the dark side. As always, it was a fun summit, even if the recording quality is a tiny bit worse than usual (thanks Skype).

In this episode, I share my notes on Denver's loss to the Boston Celtics and talk about how Gary Harris and Jamal Murray both keep raising the bar and raising all of our expectations on what this Nuggets team could become. The two might be good enough to be part of a big 3, and that means Denver might already have everything they need to move into the next phase of their ascent. I also talk about how Plumlee, Lyles, and Beasley have all appeared to gain confidence and comfort over this 6 game road trip.

In this episode, I share my notes on a beautiful team win over the Detroit Pistons. Jamal Murray is starting to heat up from behind the arc. So is Trey Lyles, who had a perfect game from the field, 7-7. Gary Harris dished out a career-high 9 assists. Mason Plumlee was a man possessed. And Will Barton! Who knew Thrill could play the facilitator role so well, all while taking just 5 shots? It was a really fun win and as a result all of my noes are positive ones.

In this episode, I look at all of the reasons that firing Michael Malone is out of the question for the Denver Nuggets. I try to share my perspective on how NBA teams operate, how coaching is viewed around the league by free agents, media, and other coaches, and how there are so many variables involved in what makes a coach successful. From there I share what I see as the positives and negatives to Malone's coaching style and where the team goes from here.

In this episode, I share my notes on Denver's heartbreaking collapse against the Indiana Pacers. I talk about how the team built a huge first half lead behind a new rotation, some big time shot making, and some impressive point guard play. I share how the 2nd half collapse reminded me of a similar collapse a few years back, in which the 4th quarter lineup ran on fumes before going down like a ship in sight of land. Lastly, I talk about how injuries have forced this team to tread water before hitting the rest button, hopefully later this week.

In this weekend summit episode of the Locked On Nuggets podcast, I am joined by Dave DuFour of the On The NBA podcast and James Holas, better known as Snottie Drippen from BBallBreakdown.com. The three of us discuss the Nuggets win over the Magic, discuss potential mid-season trades, and talk about how long fans should hold onto hope about a prospect. From there we bounce around the NBA and discuss some of the more interesting storylines. Will Marc Gasol or Carmelo Anthony be traded this season? Are the Rockets or Cavs better equipped to take on the Warriors? It's a fun full hour of basketball talk with a 15 minute overtime.
