The Carolina Panthers were back on the field Wednesday for the team's fifth OTA practice. Panthers head coach spoke to the media to provide an update on where his team is just over halfway through the nine voluntary practices. Julian Council provided his takeaways from Canales latest availability.

Ickey Ekwonu went from looking like the long-term answer at left tackle to many question whether he'd be better off moving insider to guard. Panthers GM Dan Morgan quieted the noise by stating that Ekwonu will remain at left tackle despite is sophomore season struggles. Julian discusses whether Ickey can bounce back in 2024.

Since the Panthers game was announced in Munich earlier this month, many fans have tried to figure out if there will be an affordable way to attend the game. Julian provides what he knows about acquiring tickets to the contest in Germany.

2023 was a rough introduction to the NFL for Bryce Young and the rest of the Carolina Panthers 2023 draft class. Young went through a season marred by injuries to his offensive line which helped him tie a franchise record for the amount of times sacked in a single-season. But 2024 offers a new hope with the addition of talent on the offensive line, in the backfield, and out wide for Young to utilize. What are fair expectations for Young heading into 2024?

Like Young, Jonathan Mingo didn't have the kind of rookie season many expected when he won the WR3 job. Will Mingo be able to carve out a role in this new look WR room?

What will 2024 spell for the remainder of the five-man draft class? Julian Council provides his expectations for each player heading into 2024.

The Carolina Panthers finished up Week 1 of the team's three week stretch of organized team activities, or OTA, on Thursday. Absent from the media portion of OTA on Monday was Jadeveon Clowney, Robert Hunt, and Josey Jewell. In total, five projected starters weren't in attendance for the voluntary workouts. Of those five, only Eddy Pineiro was a part of the 2-15 campaign last fall. Even still, the Panthers are a team in repair and in need of a culture shift on the field. Should it be concerning that some veterans have opted to not participate?

Where does the Panthers salary cap stand heading into June? Is it enough for the team to pursue a marquee summer free agent?

Fans are trying to figure out what are reasonable expectations for the Panthers heading into Year 1 under Dave Canales. If the Panthers were able to double their win total would that be enough or is that aiming too low?

Julian Council answers these questions among other listener questions in this week's edition of the Weekly Friday Mailbag.

Following every NFL Draft, multiple outlets release draft grades for each individual teams. While those draft grades are welcomed by fans wanting to know how experts perceive their team's draft haul, those experts are often found to be anything but in a few years time as reality plays out on the field. So, with three years having passed since the Carolina Panthers 2021 draft class came to Charlotte, how is the class perceived today?

Julian Council goes pick-by-pick to assess the impact each player made in Carolina and, for the ones who are still Panthers, Julian looks at what their role is expected to be in 2024 and beyond.

Julian also gives a final grade for the class and compares the class to previous Panthers draft hauls of recent memory.

What are fair expectations for the Carolina Panthers 2024 draft class? Julian Council looks at the Panthers first four picks and ponders the immediate impact each will have in Carolina this season.

Can Xavier Legette work his way into the WR2 role and potentially position himself as WR1 in 2025? Is Jonathon Brooks RB1 once he's healthy? Is Trevin Wallace prepared to participate in a pseudo-redshirt season at inside linebacker? Have fans placed too high of expectations on Ja'Tavion Sanders as a pass catcher at tight end this fall?

Instead of providing his expectations for Chau Smith-Wade in 2024, Julian is joined by Washington State Football sideline reporter Jessamyn McIntrye to provide insight into the kind of player and person the Panthers are getting.

Plus, thoughts on Jaden Crumedy and Michael Barrett's upcoming seasons in Carolina.

The Carolina Panthers began the final phase of its offseason on Monday morning as a three-week OTAs period began. Notably absent from OTAs was kicker Eddy Pineiro. Of course, this period of the offseason is voluntary but Pineiro was also missing from the voluntary minicamp last month. Julian Council discusses what he believes is going on with Pineiro.

With the start of OTAs, Bryce Young is finally able to begin in earnest his work with Panthers head coach Dave Canales. Canales detailed on Monday what he's focusing on with Young over the next few weeks.

Plus, a list of other Panthers missing on Monday along with an injury update on two edge rushers.

The Carolina Panthers will begin the final phase of its offseason program on Monday as OTAs begin. While the focus will be on the current rostered players, their remain questions to whether former Panthers Stephon Gilmore will return in 2024. According to a report from Joe Person, there has been no momentum between the Panthers and Gilmore. If Carolina is unable to sign Gilmore, what will be their backup plan?

Gilmore filling an open spot at outside cornerback isn't the only question surrounding the Panthers roster. Carolina was busy this offseason adding talent to the wide receiver room but still lacks a lot of proven experience at the position. Should Carolina be interested in bringing in another veteran receiver?

Under the tutelage of new head coach, Dave Canales, Bryce Young will be under the microscope in 2024. If Young is unable to make strides this season will the Panthers be in the market for a new QB next offseason?

Julian Council answers all of these questions among other listener questions in this week's edition of the Weekly Friday Mailbag.
