The Carolina Panthers made another splash signing by adding veteran edge rusher and Charlotte-area native Jadeveon Clowney. With the signing of Clowney, D.J. Wonnum, and K'Lavon Chaisson, the Panthers have likely fulfilled their quota of free agent pass rushers. Now that all three are aboard, how does that possible change how the Panthers will approach the edge rusher position in the draft?

One position the Panthers could elect to address during the draft is linebacker. With the departure of Frankie Luvu and short-term deals for Josey Jewell and Shaq Thompson, the Panthers don't have a long-term option at the position. Could NC State's Payton Wilson be the ideal fit for the Panthers in the second round?

Julian Council answers these questions among other listener questions in this week's edition of the Weekly Friday Mailbag.

The Carolina Panthers checked off another major need at edge rusher as the team came to terms with Rock Hill native Jadeveon Clowney. The Panthers signed Clowney to a 2-year, $20 million deal that could reach up to $24 million based on incentives. Julian Council discusses the significance of the signing and ponders which Clowney the Panthers will get.

With the signing of Clowney and D.J. Wonnum during free agency, how big of a priority is it for the Panthers to address the edge rusher position in the draft?

Now with Clowney aboard, will the Panthers complete another homecoming back bringing back Stephon Gilmore?

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales sat down with the media on Tuesday morning at the NFL owners meetings in Orlando, Florida where he provided his thoughts on the team's free agent transactions and his feeling on the organizations direction moving forward. Julian Council provides his takeaways from what Canales had to say.

According to reports, the Panthers have reached out to former CB Stephon Gilmore about a possible return to Carolina. Gilmore played 9 games with the team during the 2021 season and resides in the Charlotte area during the offseason. Would this be the best move for a rebuilding defense?

The Carolina Panthers have been in the market for a veteran wide receiver as the team met with Michael Gallup last week and was scheduled to meet with Mike Williams before he agreed to terms with the New York Jets. There remains another option for the Panthers: Tee Higgins.

So far, two players have received the franchise tag and then been trade by their former teams, Brian Burns and L'Jarius Snead. Neither players was traded for a first round pick. Overall, a second, fifth, and seventh round pick is all the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans had to part ways with in order to secure Burns and Snead, respectively. Given that fact, should the Panthers engage in trade talks for Higgins? Julian Council explains why the time is now for Carolina to go get Higgins.

The Panthers made a few low-cost free agent signings this past week. Julian discusses the latest additions.
