Locked On Pelicans - Daily Podcast On The New Orleans Pelicans

The Phoenix Suns hadn't made the playoffs in ten years, but now they're in the NBA Finals and just beat the Bucks in Game 1. How can the New Orleans Pelicans build around Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram in a similar way to what the Suns did with Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton? Jake takes a free agents (Kyle Lowry anyone?) and draft prospects that can help the Pels follow the Suns model and get back into the playoffs next season.

The Atlanta Hawks were the surprise of the NBA with Trae Young leading the team to the conference finals before losing to Giannis and the Bucks. While it's been assumed Charles Lee would be Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram's next head coach could former player and current Suns assistant Willie Green be the front runner? Jake looks and why his name has come up recently. There's also a clear criteria the Pels are looking for and it might leave Mike D'Antoni on the outside looking in. And Nickeil Alexander-Walker is playing for team Canada in the Olympics and draining 3's.

The head coaching search continues for the New Orleans Pelicans with Jacque Vaughn removing his name from consideration. Does that mean Charles Lee is going to the next head coach for Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram? If Damian Lillard isn't available could the Pels trade for CJ McCollum instead?

Damian Lillard seems to be incredibly unhappy with the Portland Trail Blazers and their handling of hiring new coach Chauncey Billups. If he is actually available the New Orleans Pelicans need to try and pair him with Zion Williamson. Even if it means trading Brandon Ingram. Then Jake gives updates on the Pels coaching search and shares some thoughts on Jacque Vaughn and Charles Lee.
