In Episode 1148, Sean Woodley goes solo to answer questions from the listeners about your Toronto Raptors. Off the top, Sean examines the many skill improvements we've seen from members of the team over the course of the season to determine which has been the most surprising. Is it Pascal Siakam's leveled-up playmaking? Scottie Barnes' defensive growth? Precious Achiuwa's three-point shooting? Or Chris Boucher's overall transformation as a player? Next, Sean talks about Fred VanVleet's bum knee, whether he'll be able to hold up through the post-season, and why the Raptors might be a little more equipped to withstand a limited VanVleet now than they were at the start of the season. To close things out, Sean talks about the Raptors playoff rotation, his All-Annoying Starting Five, and much more!

In Episode 1147, Sean Woodley is joined by Vivek Jacob (Raptors.com) to talk all about a thrilling, angst-filled 115-112 Toronto Raptors overtime win over the Boston Celtics on Monday night. Off the top, they make note of how poorly officiated the game was before moving on to more fun things, like Pascal Siakam scoring 40 points while pulling in 13 rebounds and picking up three steals and two blocks to power the Raptors to a win on a night where they were certainly not at their best. Is he one of the five best players in the Eastern Conference right now? Plus, Sean and Vivek chat about which of the top four teams in the Eastern Conference the Raptors would have the best chance of upsetting in round one. Are the Miami Heat's recent struggles the sign of some serious vulnerability? Is the Raptors' track record against Joel Embiid enough to make you comfortable with a series against the Philadelphia 76ers? And should the Raptors want to avoid the Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks at all costs? Lastly, Sean and Vivek hand out a pair of Dudes of the Game for the last two Toronto contests, one to Precious Achiuwa, and another to Thad Young for his oustanding work to close Monday night's game.

In Episode 1146, Sean Woodley goes solo to break down the Toronto Raptors' 117-104 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night in Toronto. Off the top, Sean examines Pascal Siakam's incredible 35-5-6 performance during which he hit six of his seven threes, and points to OG Anunoby's return as one of the key factors in what made things look so easy for Toronto's best player. Next, Sean takes a look at how the depth has evolved for the Raptors, perhaps not into being a clear point of strength, but at the very least to the point of not being an active problem. Plus, Fred VanVleet had a low-scoring night, but he saved his biggest buckets for when it mattered most. Lastly, Sean hands out the Dude of the Game to Armoni Brooks, who put up a fun 6-3-1-2-1 line as a key cog in some effective reserve lineups. Plus, a quick look at the standings and why the Raptors, despite sitting in seventh right now, might have the inside track on the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

In Episode 1145, Sean Woodley is joined by Samson Folk (Raptors Republic) to examine Pascal Siakam's case to make one of the three season-ending All-NBA teams. Off the top, Sean and Samson take a look at the case Siakam has made this year, leading the Toronto Raptors to a surprising, winning season, despite operating under some of the most difficult circumstances of any star player in the NBA. Next, they break down the inflection points in the voting process that could dictate whether there's room for Siakam or not -- could Nikola Jokic or Joel Embiid make the first team as a forward, taking away one of the six spots and making Siakam's odds a little longer? Could Luka Doncic be classified as a forward instead of a guard, creating a similar problem? And what if it comes down to a choice between Pascal Siakam and DeMar DeRozan for the final forward spot? Lastly, operating under the assumption that there's no chicanery with the positions, leaving one forward slot clearly up for grabs, should Siakam get the nod ahead of the likes of Jimmy Butler, Khris Middleton or Brandon Ingram? All that and more on today's show!
Be sure to read Samson's piece laying out Siakam's All-NBA case here: https://www.raptorsrepublic.com/2022/03/22/pascal-siakam-for-all-nba/

In Episode 1144, Sean Woodley is joined by Katie Heindl (DIME) to answer some mailbag questions on a great many Toronto Raptors-related topics. Off the top, they address Scottie Barnes and whether or not he'll level up into being the Raptors' second option on a nightly basis next season, and why that probably won't come to pass -- at least not in 2022-23. Next, they tackle a question regarding Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, and who it would hurt more to beat in a hypothetical post-season series. Plus, who is the LEAST Canadian Raptors player of all time? And are there any parallels to be drawn between the growth curve of Precious Achiuwa and Pascal Siakam in the early years of his career? Lastly, they talk about the state of the chair situation at Scotiabank Arena, and brainstorm some ways in which the Raptors can infuse King Cake Baby energy into their regular collection of mascots.

In Episode 1143, Sean Woodley goes solo to react to the Toronto Raptors' 113-99 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. Off the top, Sean dives into the ways in which they badly missed Gary Trent Jr. and OG Anunoby against the Bulls, from the offensive dry spells that Trent might have had a chance to stop, to the 11/14 night by DeMar DeRozan that might not have looked so easy with OG available. Do the Raptors stand a chance of making any post-season noise without their key guys at full health? Sadly, probably not. Next, Sean sings the praises of Pascal Siakam, who scored an efficient 22 under tough circumstances on Monday, and continues to play at an All-NBA level. But, if you read the tea leaves, it seems Siakam's All-NBA bid might not end with him on one of the three squads at season's end, which would be fine and in no way a slight against his incredible season. Lastly, Sean hands out to Dude of the Game to both Khem Birch and Chris Boucher, before pouring one out for the Raptors-Bulls season series, which never featured both sides at full health.

In Episode 1142, Sean Woodley is joined by Vivek Jacob (Raptors.com) to chat about the Toronto Raptors 1-1 weekend against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers. Off the top, they chat about how the Raptors have settled into their team identity nicely, and have now pivoted towards looking for avenues towards a higher ceiling via the likes of Scottie Barnes, who went toe to toe with LeBron James on Friday, putting up 31-17-6 and Precious Achiuwa, who was Toronto's defensive anchor against Joel Embiid and James Harden on Sunday. Mistakes are gonna happen, but the future vision of the team is looking all kinds of scary. Next, they focus on the growth of Precious Achiuwa, who had his best game of the season last night against Philly with 21 points and nine boards on 9-of-15 shooting. Has Precious already entrenched himself as a member of the team's core? And does he hold the keys to the Raptors' overall vision working out as a long-term strategy? Lastly, Sean and Vivek discuss the Sixers as a potential playoff matchup, Nick Nurse's proven track record of bothering Joel Embiid, and more before rounding out the show with some Dude of the Game winners. Gary Trent Jr. and Chris Boucher weren't the stars of the weekend, but they were damn helpful!

Lastly, Sean and Chris do their best to handicap the race between the Raptors, Cavs and the Chicago Bulls, and quickly chat about the final days of the Rookie of the Year race between Scottie Barnes and Evan Mobley.

In Episode 1140, Sean Woodley goes solo to break down the Toronto Raptors' 103-100 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night to close their six-game road trip at 5-1. Off the top, Sean digs into how the Raptors defense has finally rounded into form and become the clear strength of the team, as was on display in a rough and tumble contest against LA. Next, Sean hands out some flowers in the Box Score Notes segment to Pascal Siakam for his 31-12-3 night on 13/22 shooting, Scottie Barnes for his flourishes of stardom, Khem Birch for some steady center play, and Fred VanVleet for gutting out 21 points while clearly not 100 percent. Lastly, Sean hands out the Dude of the Game to Precious Achiuwa for his game-saving moments and take stock of an extremely tight Eastern Conference playoff race ahead of some big time games coming up next week.

In Episode 1139, Sean Woodley is joined by Jamar Hinds (Raptors Republic) to talk about what the Toronto Raptors rotation should look like once OG Anunoby returns from injury and heading into the post-season. Off the top they discuss their ideal starting five and why the small ball look with Scottie Barnes serving as the nominal five is still their most desired starting look. Next, they turn their attention to who will populate the first few spots in Nick Nurse's bench rotation, how the team can best manage the overlapping skill sets of Thad Young, Precious Achiuwa and Chris Boucher, and why Malachi Flynn's shooting could be a massive addition to the rotation if he returns from his hamstring injury. Lastly, they talk about Khem Birch, why they don't view him as someone who should be in the regular rotation at full health, but why his skill set could potentially come in handy down the line anyway.
