In Episode 1168, Sean Woodley is joined by Jackson Frank (Liberty Ballers, Basketall News) to talk about the Sixers have of the first round NBA playoff series between the Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers. Off the top they chat about the ways in which the Sixers lost the plot after Game 1 and 2, and whether their early series control of the transition and offensive rebounding departments is something they can rediscover in Game 6 on Thursday. Next, they chat about Joel Embiid's thumb injury, the ways in which it's affecting some of his bread and butter offensive sets, and whether the Sixers can do anything to get him in position to score more easily than they have throughout the series. Plus, is Tyrese Maxey's impact on the series doomed to be limited as long as Fred VanVleet is sidelined and the Raptors are married to playing huge lineups? Lastly, they discuss whether the Sixers might change up their defensive coverages on Pascal Siakam, and what looks might be worth trying to slow down Toronto's offensive hub. Plus, Sean asks Jackson about the level of belief in Doc Rivers to turn the series around on the heels of his defensive comments on Wednesday, as well as whether his outlook on the Sixers upside has been changed throughout the course of this series.

In Episode 1167, Sean Woodley goes solo to field a bunch of listener questions about the Toronto Raptors' first round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Off the top, Sean digs into whether the two off days will benefit the Raptors, or if the Sixers might stand to gain more of an advantage as it gives Joel Embiid another day to rest his injured thumb. Next, Sean discusses which player or adjustment has most altered the series, with the decision to dare James Harden to score against single coverage probably serving as the biggest move by either coach in the series so far to date. Next, Sean discusses Fred VanVleet, whether he should be rushed back in this series of if he's better preserved for a potential second round date with the Miami Heat -- a team that he figures to have much more success against than he's having in a diminished state against the 76ers. Plus, do the Raptors need to find him a true backup next season in the interest of keeping him fresh into the post-season? To close the show, Sean discusses whether Pascal Siakam is playoff-proof as a player, as well as whether Precious Achiuwa is the best defender on either team in this series.

In Episode 1166, Sean Woodley is joined by Jamar Hinds (Raptors Republic) to break down the Toronto Raptors' 103-88 win over the Phialdelphia 76ers in Game 5 of their first round series to bring the series to 3-2 heading back to Scotiabank Arena on Thursday. Off the top, they dive into the play of Pascal Siakam, whose 23-point, 10-rebound, 7-assist effort on 10/17 shooting was a prime example of the game control he's exhibited all season long. Plus, some thoughts on the secondary creation of OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes and Thad Young. Next, they dig into the ways in which the Raptors' stymied the Sixers offense over the course of a truly beautiful effort on the defensive end of the floor. Do the Sixers have any answers to the changes the Raptors have made over the last few games? Lastly, they talk about the members of the Sixers who most successfully helped the Raptors cause, from Joel Embiid's work as a defensive turnstile, to the two-way demolition of the Sixers performed by Matisse Thybulle. Game 6 is on Thursday, and you'd be justified to feel pretty darn confident in the Raptors' forcing a seventh game!

In Episode 1165, Sean Woodley is joined by Vivek Jacob (Raptors.com) to preview Game 5 of the Toronto Raptors first round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Off the top, Sean and Vivek discuss Fred VanVleet, who is questionable to play on Monday, and whether the Raptors can win Game 5 if he's unavailable. Is there a chance the Raptors might be more equipped to survive against the Sixers without Fred than they would be against most other opponents? And can Pascal Siakam and Gary Trent Jr. repeat their on-ball efforts from the Game 4 win? Next, they talk about whether there are any more adjustments to be made by either coach in this series, or if the Raptors' altered coverages on James Harden, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey have more or less set the terms for the rest of the series, leaving things mostly up top execution as the determining factor. Lastly, the peer into their crystal balls and try to predict the outcome of Game 5, before taking a moment to talk about Scottie Barnes' Rookie of the Year win and why it was so well-deserved.

In Episode 1163, Sean Woodley is joined by Rohan Nadkarni (SI.com, Open Floor) to talk about what we've learned about the Toronto Raptors over the course of the 2021-22 season, and in their three playoff losses to the Philadelphia 76ers. Off the top, Sean picks Rohan's brain on the Raptors' team building concept and whether it seems like a viable way for the Raptors to play going forward. Do they need to find a center for matchups like the one with Joel Embiid? Is that even a problem for the team to really worry about considering where they sit on their win curve right now? And is Precious Achiuwa perhaps the answer to the Raptors center issues staring them directly in the face? Next, they dig into Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet, the heat they've taken for their playoff performances so far against the Sixers, and why they still are very obviously key ingredients to this Raptors team next year and beyond. Lastly, they talk about the hypothetical scenario in which one of Rudy Gobert or Donovan Mitchell becomes available once the Utah Jazz flame out. Could Gobert alter the way the Raptors play defense while also elevating the half court offense? And is Mitchell too porous a defender to really fit the Raptors system? All that, plus some thoughts on Kyle Lowry's Miami Heat heading into a likely date with the Sixers in the second round.

In Episode 1162, Sean Woodley goes solo live from Scotiabank Arena moments after the Toronto Raptors lost a heartbreaker to Joel Embiid's Philadelphia 76ers in Game 3 of their first round playoff series. Off the top, Sean digs into the inevitabiltiy that comes with a star player as great as Embiid, the breakdown on the final defensive possession, and how that miscue undercut what was a really excellent defensive performance by the Raptors from start to finish, as they forced 22 turnovers and dared Embiid to beat them with tough shot making -- and he did. Sean also addresses how the offense dried up in the second half as the Sixers rolled out some heavy zone. Next, Sean runs through his notes on OG Anunoby, who was incredible, Precious Achiuwa, who had the game of his life before missing a pair of critical late-game free throws that could have sealed the win, Pascal Siakam, whose excellent defense gave way to a poor offensive showing and 0 second half points, and Fred VanVleet, who looks very, very tired. Please stop being dumb about Pascal Siakam. Please learn from very recent history, my god. Lastly, Sean fields some future-thinking questions from viewers of the live stream, and reflects on how the loss in Game 3, while heartbreaking, is a far cry from some of the other recent heartbreaks, and is actually kind of a necessary blow for a young team to suffer early in its trajectory. It's all good, man.

In Episode 1161, Sean Woodley goes solo to break down the Toronto Raptors' 112-97 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2 of their first round NBA playoff series on Monday night. Off the top, Sean digs into how the Raptors' shorthandedness in Game 2 bled into all the other areas of the game, leaving them unable to keep pace for 48 minutes despite a promising start and a torrid first quarter from Fred VanVleet. Next, Sean examines some of the positives from the game, including the turnovers they forced Joel Embiid to commit, the super-efficient scoring of OG Anunoby, the defensive promise displayed by Precious Achiuwa, and the work Chris Boucher did in 30 inspired minutes off the bench. Lastly, Sean takes a big picture view of where this team sits with the series headed back to Toronto with health very much not on its side, and compares this year's version of the team to a recent edition of the Toronto Blue Jays in the hopes of offering some perspective amid the bad vibes of a tough start to the series.

In Episode 1160, Sean Woodley is joined by Vivek Jacob (Raptors.com) to break down the Toronto Raptors' Game 1 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in their first round playoff series. Off the top, they dig into the ways in which the Raptors lost their defensive identity in Game 1, how they dealt with Joel Embiid, the explosions of Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris, and whether there's anything the Raptors can change up with regards to how they cover James Harden in Game 2 and beyond. Next, Sean and Vivek talk about Scottie Barnes, who was brilliant in his playoff debut with an uber-efficient 15-10-8 before leaving the game with a sprained left ankle. Can the Raptors still win this series with him sidelined or diminished by the injury? And how does the thumb injury sustained by Thad Young complicate matters? Lastly, they take a look at some adjustments the Raptors can make going into Game 2. Should OG Anunoby be the primary on Tyrese Maxey? Should Pascal Siakam be involved a little more centrally in the Raptors' scheme? And can Gary Trent Jr. find a way to make some shots? All that and so much more in a comprehensive breakdown of the series opener.

In Episode 1159, Sean Woodley is joined by Katie Heindl to answer a bunch of listener questions ahead of the Toronto Raptors' first round series with the Philadelphia 76ers. Off the top they answer the simple question: how are you feeling? They dig into why they are in fact feeling pretty good about the lack of pressure, and the potential for the Raptors to pull off an upset being more than just a pipe dream. In addition, they examine whether or not this series could have any outcome that would make them question the Raptors' inventive team-building plan. Next, they field questions about how the playoff rotation could shake out, how the Raptors should use Scottie Barnes on defense to help hide his weaknesses and amplify his strengths. Plus, they talk about Precious Achiuwa's importance to the matchup, how much Nick Nurse will trust his bench, and why the league needs to bring back the Pitbull playoff song. Enjoy Game 1!
