In this episode of the Locked On Rays podcast, Kevin and Ulises take a look at some recent comments Tampa Bay Rays principal owner Stu Sternberg made to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, where he discussed the team's roster, fanbase, attendance and Montreal plan. Many of his comments riled up Rays fans and the online community. Kevin and Ulises also take a look at the Boston Red Sox signing former Rays outfielder Hunter Renfroe to a one-year, $3.1 million deal, plus incentives. (Kevin submits a fun Renfroe prop bet, too.)

Kevin and Ulises take an in-depth look at the Tampa Bay Rays trading 1B Nate Lowe to the Texas Rangers for a trio of young prospects, headlined by 21-year-old catcher/outfielder Heriberto Hernandez. Did the Rays make a smart play, or will Lowe prove them wrong over the next several years? Ulises is bothered by the move, while Kevin is fine, if not pleased, with it. Listen to find out why!

Among the talking points:
-What makes Slegers so effective, despite relatively pedestrian "stuff."
-How did Snell's increased slider usage allow for a more successful 2020 campaign, compared to 2019?

Kevin and Ulises discuss the Tampa Bay Rays decision to tender all seven of its arbitration-elgible players (Tyler Glasnow, Ryan Yarbrough, Jose Alvarado, Yonny Chirinos, Ji-Man Choi, Joey Wendle, Manual Margot), then non-tendering pre-arb reliever Edgar Garcia to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. What does it all mean, and will all thee guys be on the roster come Opening Day? (Remember: a player can be tendered a contract and then traded; these contracts are also non-guaranteed, so one or more of these players can be released before the start of the season with minimal cost.)
They also discuss some of the other notable non-tenders throughout baseball, now free agents the Rays or other teams could possibly pursue
Also, baseball trivia and the introduction of a new game called, "Name That WAR."
