Locked On SMU - Daily Podcast on SMU Mustangs Football & Basketball

Tyren Polley primed for breakout year—can he emerge as SMU Mustangs’ next ACC star? Grayson Singleton spotlights ESPN’s pick of Polley as SMU’s most under-the-radar player, breaking down why national eyes should be on the ascending defensive back. Pauly’s athleticism, ball skills, and new starting role position him to rival former standouts Isaiah Nwokobia and Ahmaad Moses, raising the bar for SMU’s defense against a favorable lineup of opposing quarterbacks.

NCAA Tournament chaos looms as March Madness expands to 76 teams, and the pressure is on Andy Enfield and the Mustangs basketball program. Grayson Singleton sets a new standard for SMU: not just qualifying for the tournament, but getting safely in and winning games is now the expectation. Closing with an inside look at Alexander Kilgore’s loyalty and culture under Rhett Lashlee, the episode offers sharp commentary on SMU’s athlete retention and what’s fueling the football program’s staying power.

The show also spotlights SMU’s top undrafted free agents, including Jordan Hudson’s bid for a Dallas Cowboys roster spot and Isaiah Wakobia’s high-upside opportunity with a youth-focused Cincinnati Bengals defense. Plus, SMU basketball’s portal activity heats up with the additions of David Terrell Jr. and Nic Codie, bringing needed defensive grit and versatility to Andy Enfield’s squad.
