Locked On SMU - Daily Podcast on SMU Mustangs Football & Basketball

SMU Mustangs face a high-stakes shootout against Cal, where Kevin Jennings and Kendrick Raphael look to outduel Jaren-Keawe Sagapolutele’s explosive Bears offense. Could this be the ACC’s most thrilling game of the year? The matchup tests whether SMU’s cornerbacks—featuring Marcellus Barnes and Jayvon Thomas—can silence a revamped Cal receiving corps and overcome last season’s defensive struggles.

Host Grayson Singleton breaks down SMU’s path to the College Football Playoff, sharing official picks and evaluating if this roster, under Rhett Lashlee, has the right mix to secure an 11-win season. The discussion explores SMU’s linebacker unit, ranked No. 14 by Phil Steele, spotlighting Brandon Booker, Alexander Kilgore, and Jamal Anderson’s hard-nosed style and what greater defensive “violence” could mean for the Mustangs’ title hopes. Can SMU capitalize on a favorable ACC schedule and make national noise?
