The Atlanta Falcons has a lot of questions about their roster heading into their matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Arthur Smith has yet to announce who the starter will be at the center position. Jon Chuckery talked about all of those concerns and how they will play out in week one. Secondly, the Georgia Bulldogs made it very clear that they were the better team against the Oregon Ducks on Saturday. The Bulldogs defeated the Ducks 49-3 in a rout, and they sent a message to the entire college football world. Jon Chuckery talked about how the Bulldogs still look playoff worthy even though they lost so many players to the NFL. Lastly, the Atlanta Braves have found themselves one game behind the New York Mets in the National League East. The Braves start their west coast trip against the Oakland A’s tonight. Jon Chuckery talked about how the Braves can easily get tripped up on the west coast, and how the Mets have a very favorable schedule.

The Georgia Bulldogs absolutely demolished the Oregon Ducks on Saturday at Mercedes Benz stadium. Stetson Bennett put on a show in Atlanta and probably made Kirby Smart look really good by naming him the starter. Mark Zinno talked about how it was a pleasant surprise to see how Bennett performed. Secondly, the Atlanta Falcons are set to take on the New Orleans Saints in their season opener on Sunday. Arthur Smith was hired to turn things around for this organization. Mark Zinno talked about what Smith has to do to establish an identity for the Falcons. Also, Zinno discussed how Smith plans on doing that going forward. Lastly, the Atlanta Braves have been chasing the New York Mets for the entire season. The Braves currently are one game behind the Mets at 84-51. Mark Zinno talked about how important it is for the Braves to show well out on the west coast. Also, Zinno discussed how he won’t enjoy the expansion of the college football playoffs.

The Atlanta Braves were able to get the series win against the Colorado Rockies last night at Truist Park. Spencer Strider made history last night by striking out 16 batters. Strider broke John Smoltz’s Atlanta-team record by pitching eight innings. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about Strider’s performance, and how he and Michael Harris have carried the Braves since they got the call-up. Also, they discussed how the Georgia Bulldogs will begin their national title defense against the Oregon Ducks. Secondly, the Atlanta Falcons made a series of moves yesterday. The interesting part comes in when the names of the players that were put on the injured reserve list. Marlon Davidson, Deion Jones, Jalen Mayfield and Isaiah Oliver were the notable names. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about which names stood out to them. Also, they discussed who needs to step up on offense and defense for the Falcons in 2022. Lastly, one of the coolest things in life is to meet an artist, or a famous actor that you’re a fan of. Kiara Moore got a chance to do that with super artist Nas on vacation. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about times when they got a chance to meet some pretty famous people. Jon Chuckery talked about Strider’s performance being one of the best pitching performances he’s ever seen. Lastly, Labor Day weekend is the official start of the college football season. The Spencer Strider conversation is over. The Atlanta Braves need to put Stride right behind Max Fried when the playoffs start. Mark Zinno talked about Strider being the number two starter in the playoffs regardless of who they will face. This is the most dominant pitcher on the Braves staff and right now, maybe even in all of baseball. Also, Deion Jones goes on IR for the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are making this a bad joke and they look foolish. Secondly, Terry Fontenot has had to make some difficult decisions regarding the salary cap. One area the Atlanta Falcons have struggled for quite some time is on the defensive side of the football. Mark Zinno talked about a breakdown of defensive cap spending in the NFL and how it correlates to teams being good on defense and making the playoffs. Also, Zinno discussed where the Falcons are in relation to the top spenders in the league at each position on the defensive side of the ball. Lastly, the college football world is getting ready to take over Labor Day weekend. The Atlanta Falcons brought in Marcus Mariota immediately once they traded away Matt Ryan in the spring. Arthur Smith had some familiarity with Mariota when he was the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans. With Mariota set to be the starter, Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about how he can give the Falcons an advantage against the New Orleans Saints in week one. Also, they talked about Kyle Wright and Ronald Acuna lifting the Atlanta Braves to a win against the Colorado Rockies. Secondly, the Jackson State Tigers and Florida A&M Rattlers are set to face each other in the Orange Blossom Classic this weekend. Tiffany Greene of ESPN joined ATL Day Ones with Jarvis and Tenitra to preview this big matchup. They started off by talking about the number one recruit in the country, Travis Hunter, making his college football debut for Jackson State. Also, they discussed what Deion Sanders has done, not only for Jackson State, but for HBCUs as a whole. Lastly, Serena Williams has drawn a lot of attention to the city of Queens. The main reason is because Williams announced that the U.S Open will be her last tournament. Another reason is because she was able to beat the number two player in the world last night. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about what it meant to Williams' legacy after watching her get a win last night.

The Atlanta Braves evened up the series against the Colorado Rockies last night at Truist Park. Kyle Wright was on display going seven innings with no runs given up. Jon Chuckery talked about Wright and Max Fried being one of the best pitching duos in Major League Baseball. Also, Chuckery made an interesting comparison of the young pitching duo. Secondly, the Atlanta Braves made the decision to bring back Ronald Acuna Jr. last night against the Colorado Rockies. The Braves have been trying to make sure they handle Acuna’s knee correctly. Jon Chuckery talked about how his level of concern was raised last night when Acuna talked about how his knee was feeling after the game. Lastly, the Atlanta Falcons drafted Ta’Quon Graham in the 5th round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Graham saw some playing time last season and is slated to be a starter in 2022. Jon Chuckery talked about how Graham is starting to get noticed by the national media. Also, Chuckery talked about how the Falcons need their draft picks upfront need to start making plays.

The Atlanta Braves were able to get a win against the Colorado Rockies last night to even up the series. Ronald Acuna Jr. was back in the lineup and made his presence felt with a solo home run. Mark Zinno talked about Acuna’s comments after the game that gave him some reservations about Acuna’s future with the organization. Secondly, the college football playoff has existed with four teams for quite some time now. With all of the conference realignment, it seems all of the conferences are pushing to expand past four teams. Mark Zinno talked about not being in favor of expansion. Also, he discussed one thing that the conferences need to do first before they talk about playoff expansion. Lastly, Stetson Bennett overcame a lot of outside noise by leading the Georgia Bulldogs to the 2021 National Championship. Bennett will still be under the microscope in 2022 as they try to defend said championship. Mark Zinno talked about how Georgia’s schedule favors Bennett and how the roster isn’t built the same as it was last year.

The Atlanta Braves lost to one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball last night. The Colorado Rockies defeated the Braves 3-2 at Truist Park. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about how the Braves weren’t able to take advantage of the opportunities they had at the plate. Also, they discussed Ronald Acuna Jr. sitting out another game and A.J. Terrell finally getting some love from the national media. Secondly, the Atlanta Falcons was able to cut down their roster to 53 by yesterday’s deadline. Arthur Smith and Terry Fontenot had some hard decisions to make due to the competitive team they filled this offseason. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about who they were surprised by making the team and whether or not the Falcons are done adding to their roster. Lastly, John Wall, at one point, was one of the most dynamic point guards in the NBA. In the past few years, Wall has dealt with his fair share of injuries. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about his injuries and they discussed what he has been dealing with off the court that may have had an effect on his play as well. Also, they praised Harold Varner III for just saying what everyone has been thinking in regard to LIV golf.

Jon Chuckery talked about how the Braves have the ability to not put themselves in those types of situations. Also, Chuckery talked about how the Braves will bounce back tonight because they are the better team. Secondly, Tori McElhaney of AtlantaFalcons.com joined Hittin’ Hard with Jon Chuckery to talk about the Falcons trimming their roster down to 53. They talked about how Arthur Smith is trying to continue to change the culture in Flowery Branch. McElhaney also gave who was her surprise cut. They discussed the possibility of Qadree Ollison trying to catch on with another team. Lastly, the Atlanta Falcons have had to deal with the backlash when Calvin Ridley was caught gambling last year. With the news of Ridley being targeted in gang-related robberies, it speaks to Ridley’s mental state in 2021. Jon Chuckery talked about how he understands what Ridley was going through, but there was still no reason to start gambling on your team.
