Locked On Suns - Daily Podcast On The Phoenix Suns

After a 120-100 loss by the Phoenix Suns to the Bucks, Brandon Duenas of Zona Hoops and Bright Side of the Sun joins the show as he does every Monday to discuss what went wrong and how the Suns can improve. We break down Deandre Ayton finally getting into foul trouble and how Monty Williams struggled with the third quarter rotation, Devin Booker going cold and why he was on the bench for the entire fourth quarter, plus Giannis Antetokounmpo's big night and whether the Suns should just expect a 30-40 from Giannis every night going forward.

Another game, another way to win, as Devin Booker led the Suns to a big win in Game Two of the NBA Finals despite 42 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks wasted a huge performance from their MVP because they could not stop the Suns' offense, which came alive for a 20-40 avalanche from deep in addition to Booker's brilliance. The Suns will need to keep their "0-0" mentality to stay aggressive and close out the series, but this game showed again that the Bucks have no answer for the Suns' star backcourt.

Gerald Bourguet of FanSided joins the show to get you ready for Game Two of the NBA Finals, as the Suns look to take control of the series at home. We discuss how the Suns solved switching over the course of the season and why it didn't work for Milwaukee in Game One, if there is any defensive answer for the Bucks, and whether Giannis Antetokounmpo has more in the tank after a gnarly knee injury just a week ago. We close by guessing how Milwaukee's offense might adjust and looking to the Bucks' regular season attack against Phoenix for some clues.

The Phoenix Suns took an NBA Finals series lead for the first time in franchise history with a 118-105 win in Game One, and Brandon Duenas of Bright Side of the Sun and Zona Hoops joins the show to react to the win, including Chris Paul staying in attack mode when the Suns needed it most, Phoenix being ready to handle Giannis Antetokounmpo and the atmosphere of their first Finals together, and Paul, Devin Booker and the Suns outsmarting Milwaukee's defensive schemes.

Get ready for Game One of the NBA Finals with the second part of our NBA Finals preview. Today, Jackson Frank joins the show to discuss all things Giannis Antetokounmpo. We discuss his status heading into Tuesday night and how the series changes depending on how much Giannis plays. That includes why Jae Crowder is more likely to start games on Giannis, whether Milwaukee will have to go small in this series, and how the Suns can use the Bucks' aggressive help defense against them by getting the ball moving, cutting, and playing aggressively on offense.

Game One of the NBA Finals is less than 48 hours away, and it's time to preview the series. Brandon Duenas of Bright Side of the Sun and Zona Hoops joins the show as he does every week to start with the Suns' All-Star backcourt and its impact on the series. We discuss how if Chris Paul stays aggressive, he can punish Brook Lopez's drop defense, manipulate Giannis Antetokounmpo, and help the Suns control the pace of the series. We also explain why Devin Booker will need to be at his best defensively and why facing off with Khris Middleton is a matchup Booker can win.

A trip to the NBA Finals changes everything for these Suns, and Gina Mizell of Suns.com joins the show to celebrate what it means for everyone involved. We discuss how big of an achievement it is for the Suns to break through from an 8-0 run in the Bubble and turn it into a run at the NBA championship, what it means for Chris Paul to humble himself with a young squad and help turn them into a title contender, and how Devin Booker's commitment to the Valley and the Suns fan base has created a connection between him and the city that is unlike just about anything in Arizona sports history.

This is a night Phoenix Suns fans will never forget. After a 130-103 win by the Suns over the Clippers in Game Six of the Western Conference Finals, they are headed back to the NBA Finals for the third time in franchise history. They were led by Chris Paul, who mustered up a historic closeout performance with 41 points, eight assists and zero turnovers to make the NBA Finals for the first time in his career. This night is for you, for me, for everyone who waited for this day to come again.

Heading into another huge game day for the Suns, The Athletic's Anthony Slater, who has been filling in on Suns coverage during the postseason, joins the show to talk about Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton, the Suns' defense and how this Suns team can pull off a road win in Game Six. We also discuss how the Suns can corral Paul George, Reggie Jackson and DeMarcus Cousins, and what the Suns' rotation could look like tonight.

Let's not act like the sky is falling, Suns fans. Instead, let's sift through what actually happened in a 116-102 Game Five loss, from the Suns not punishing the Clippers' zone, allowing DeMarcus Cousins to dominate, not playing with pace, and not attacking the rim. And let's discuss what can get better, including a more aggressive Chris Paul, more minutes for Cameron Johnson, more small ball with Torrey Craig, and a willingness to get uncomfortable from the Suns' coaching staff to the players.
