Locked On Twins - Daily Podcast On The Minnesota Twins

Shane Bieber is pitching at a historic rate. In his season debut last week, he struck out 14 Royals and didn't allow a run. Last night against arguably the best lineup in baseball, he struck out 13 more Twins and shut them out over eight innings. The Twins will look to bounce back against another borderline ace tonight in Mike Clevinger.

Meanwhile, the St.Louis Cardinals announced that two of their players, reportedly both pitchers, tested positive for COVID-19. Their game tonight in Milwaukee has been moved to Sunday. The Cardinals played the Twins in Minneapolis on Tuesday and Wednesday. The positive test results were from before Wednesday's game, creating doubt about whether the Twins should really be playing tonight.

The Miami Marlins have at least 13 positive cases for COVID-19. Two MLB games have been cancelled tonight. The season seems to be hanging in the balance. Meanwhile, the Twins' offense leads baseball in runs after the first weekend as Nelson Cruz continues to punish White Sox pitching. How much longer can the season go? There are the big names: Josh Donaldson, Max Kepler and Taylor Rogers will make the opening day roster. The intrigue lies in spots 26-30, spots that weren't open before the coronavirus shutdown MLB and rosters were expanded to 30. Let's break them all down. From Donaldson to Blankenhorn, who is projected to make the opening day roster?

Jake Odorizzi was scratched from his start Sunday with upper back stiffness. He was presumably slated to start Saturday's game in Chicago against Dallas Keuchel and the White Sox. Rocco Baldelli said he may be moved back a day or multiple days. What are some contingency plans? Should Randy Dobnak start in Chicago? Rich Hill? Also, Travis Blankenhorn is looking like a strong candidate to be the 30th man on the Twins' roster. Let's discuss.
