Without fail, one of the first things we are asked when we introduce ourselves as aspirants of the priesthood is, “Wait, you do know priests can’t have sex or get married, right?”

The first time we were asked, we were taken by surprise; however, after having come to grips with it, we began to notice that this question comes from a lack of understanding of a reality foreign to ordinary life, namely celibacy.

In this episode, we do two things:

1) We discuss some of the misconceptions surrounding celibacy

2) We talk about what its purpose is and why such a reality exists in the Church

FYI: Anticipate sarcasm, humor, and, only slightly, condescension (mostly from Max, but…)

This week, Logos Podcast takes on a new topic of conversation, namely finance and economics. Credit cards, retirement, student loans, car loans, stock investments, and trust funds, what do these have to do with our living? Are they sinful? Are they good? A good American BETTER have these in place, damn it!

Well, believe it or not, the Church has something to say about them, and we brought on independent researcher Michael Humpherys to help us develop the Church’s assessment of some of the financial matters at hand.

How do our finances shape our lives? What does the Church say regarding these facets of human living? Tune in to find out!

"How often do you think about the Roman Empire?" #rome #stoicism #stoic #marcusaurelius #warzone #warzone #napoleon #ridleyscott #movie #review #cinema #art #beauty

This question has become trendy in social media, but it is not new to historians or serious thinkers. Thus, we summoned Dr. Eric Graff to help us dive into this discussion.

We begin the discussion, however, by giving our initial impressions of Napoleon as directed and produced by Sir Ridley Scott featuring Joaquin Phoenix and then move into discussing what exactly the Roman Empire is, and some of its pros and cons.

Is a desire to be "Roman" a response to decadence or a desire for more?

On this episode, Logos dives into one of Chris Stapleton's new song called: The Bottom.

This song comes from his "Higher" album which debuted at the 2023 CMA's 2023. You may have heard his rendition of Tennessee Whiskey or his productions like: Starting Over, Halos, Fire Away, or Sometimes I Cry.

Max argues Chris Stapleton has changed the country music landscape forever, chalking him up as one of greats...what do you think?

Key themes consider:
1) The Mystery of Love
2) The Need to Address "The Bottom"
3) The Importance of the Heart

Memory. This is the hot topic of today. Like, McDonald’s fries, it stays relevant.

But, what is it? Why does it play such an important role in human living? Remember that Oppenheimer movie? Why was it so popular?

These questions and much more are discussed in our podcast for this week. At the very least, we hope this episode helps you remember…

In this episode, Logos dives into one of the major thinkers behind contemporary thought, namely Friedrich Nietzsche.

We assess his answer to THE existential question: What is the meaning of life?

For Nietzsche, one of the answers to this question is for man to become the Ubermensch. But, what is that? What does becoming such an ideal require? Tune in to find out.

In this episode, Logos brings on a long overdue guest: a religious sister. By the grace of God, we were able to trick Sister. Anne-Catherine into coming onto our podcast to discuss her life, the religious life, the complementarity of man and woman, and the importance of truth and contemplation.

This episode was awesome! If you want to change the world, befriend a sister and here is our attempt of doing so. Enjoy the episode and as always, God Bless.

In this episode, Logos Podcast brings on Architect and Professor William (“Bill”) Heyer to discuss his journey as an Architect, Sacred Architecture, and its need in the culture.

Bob The Builder, yes we can. Although, it would be “Bill The Builder” in this case. Another question was brought up too, what about Legos and ugly churches? Tune in to find out.

As always, we wish we had more time to discuss this topic, but here is a snippet into the heart and mind of a man seeking to glorify God by bringing people into an encounter with the divine through Architectury.
