This episode of Looking at the Flowers covers the episode 5 of Fear the Walking Dead season 2 that aired May 8, 2016.

Givin' it to y'all straight -- what was up with the writing in this episode?! How could Jack possibly think he could convince Alicia to ditch her family as they're riding up to save her? Why did Alex blame Travis, and not Strand for stranding her (get it?) out at sea?? Why did Strand and his partner think that speaking in Spanish in front of Daniel was somehow going to be sneaky?? And how does Strand get off thinking that giving us 30 mins to get our people back in any way make she and Maddie "even" for saving his life?? While it was WAY rad that our group gave Walker Reed to his brother, why wasn't he more zombie like and thrashing around or making noises during the handoff? There were a ton of poor scripting decisions made in this episode and we hope that the show does not continue down this path.

Jack and his company of pirates have officially arrived and taken over Abigail. Alicia BIG TIME dropped the ball on this one, even if she's trying to make it up by pretend-falling for Jack to make him save her life. Things aren't looking good for Travis to come back to our group. Turns out Strand has loved in his life, and it was to a man that gave him a second chance. Does he see himself in Nick? Is that why he gave Nick a chance -- because of their similarities? Maddie doesn't mess around, even with pregnant chicks and had no problem igniting her worst fears. Daniel's the king of interrogation and shaping up to be the strong arm of the group -- will Chris follow in his footsteps, as opposed to his father's footsteps of compassion and empathy? Will we ever get to Mexico at this point?!

Our group finally meets Alex and Jake from Flight 462! And just like that, they went poof! We already knew Strand was the biggest jerk out there, but his behavior in this episode takes his out-of-control'edness to a new level. Maddie and Travis' relationship is on rocky waters, shall we say? Daniel is freaking out because his daughter is a drama queen who won't take care of herself, so he tries to cement their place within the group by taking the kids out on a run where we meet Alex & Jake, and Chris is finally faced with the reality of his mom's death as he himself has to perform a mercy kill.

Mexico, or so it seems, looks like it's been fortified, but by who? Why did Nick wash up on the shore in the previews for episode 4? Did he escape a raid on the yacht? Did he volunteer to go on a mission?

Strand is officially #boatdick and is about to turn our people in for cash, or worse... Thankfully Daniel and Ofelia decided to "keep him company". Can't we just vote that guy off the island?? Maddie tries to bring some kiddos into the group, thanks to creepy sycophant island-man George and his "power up pills". Those poor children were always doomed... Our group finds out that basically the entire western half of the country has gone to hell in a hand basket, Strand is abducting us and going to Mexico. WITH MACHINE GUNS. And it looks like our group will get to meet some of the survivors of Flight 462. So far season 2 is shaping up to be pretty exciting.

This episode of Looking at the Flowers covers the season 2 premier of Fear the Walking Dead that aired Sun. April 10, 2016. 

We open this episode by talking about the significance of the Bible verse Revelations 21:4 that was referenced in two of the episodes of the last season, and how the theme of this verse carries throughout the season premier and the rest of the season to come. In the aftermath of Liza's death Chris is basically the angsty-est person we know, next to Rick Grimes. Nick is proving to be one of the bravest people we've met so far in this world and seems to be willing to put himself in harms way over and over to save those around him, even Chris. Travis makes one of his first really major decisions in this new world not to save the boat of 20 or so survivors (they won't be for long). What would you have done?! Alicia has found a new friend on the waters who is creepy as hell. Will Jack & Co turn out to be the ones who destroyed the boat and its occupants we encounter at sea? We wonder what Strand has in store for our group, because he is clearly NOT a benevolent person and thankfully Maddie & Daniel are on that.

In tonight's episode of Looking at the Flowers we discuss episode 15 of season 6 that aired March 26, 2016. We are ENRAGED about Dwight's atrocious behavior and are freaking out about Carol. She has completely lost it. Thankfully Morgan and Rick are working their stuff out and Morgan told Rick about the Wolf (finally!). Amber is super proud of the fact that she predicted Morgan would go after Carol and both of us are concerned about her safety. It doesn't seem like Daryl heard the news about Carol, so he's basically going to lose his mind when he finds out. Unfortunately, it looks like Glenn is no longer in the "safe zone" and Maggie might lose the baby. What the hell happened this episode?! 

Things are NOT looking good for next week's 90 min season finale. What do you think will happen to our group? Do you think someone will die? If so, who?

This week hosts Katie and Amber talk about Episode 14 of The Walking Dead that aired March 20, 2016.

The theme of Routine and breaking of it were a pretty central theme in this episode and no character can escape it. Could it be that our group is fracturing because they have too much to lose? Are they truly ready for the fight they are asking for with Negan and the Saviors? Will Abraham step back and let Eugene handle himself from now on? Or will he always stay just out of sight so he can protect his people if need be? Will Daryl blame himself for Denise's death? How will Tara deal with Denise's death when she gets back from her run? Will Carol ever come back to our group, or is she gone for good this time?
