Are we still in the space age? It depends on who you ask. Officially, yes. But NASA hasn't launched a shuttle in over a decade. We haven't set foot on a non-earth object in 50 years. So what's so spacey about the current age? Privatization, for one. Everyone's upset at the ultra wealthy multi-billionaires that seem so common these days, but a lot of those billionaires have a keen interest in space, the money to fund it, and the willingness to actually take a risk. Meanwhile, Congress is still concerned with getting phonographs to work in zero gravity. That was a joke. Or was it?
