In the mechanical sense of the word, to depress something means to hold it down. Today we're taking a different look at depression from this POV.
What are we holding down when we feel depressed? Our hope? Our truth? Anger? And what would it be like to access those feelings and release them instead?
Sadness is often associated as a cause of depression but today we're reconsidering this. What if sadness is more like the byproduct of an ongoing situation where the body isn't able to express what it needs to express or honor the deeper feelings asking to be felt?
And what are the role of hormones in depression as well?
This is a rich topic and we may do a part 2 at some point but let's at least get the ball rolling today! Always love to hear your feedback at: marywelch.com or on Insta: @marywelchofficial
