You are learning to take your thoughts captive and are doing a great job working on your mindset, so why is your body still stressed out and stuck in fight, flight, or freeze? 

In this week's episode, I share how I finally made the mind-body connection and learned how working on your thoughts and emotions is only half of the battle. You have to work on your physical body, too. I share all the tips and tricks I learned to calm my central nervous system and get out of fight or flight.

In this week's Midlife Moment, I talk about something that has been "mid" as long as I have been an adult: figuring out what to make for dinner.

We all have painful stories we tell, about ourselves, about our relationships, about our lives. Why? Maybe it's out of habit, maybe it's because we have been a victim, or maybe it's because sometimes we like to play the role of the martyr. 

No matter the reason, it's time to let go of the painful stories that are not serving us and learn to re-tell our stories in ways that do. I'll give you some useful tools for doing just that. I'll also tell you a painful story that I believed about myself and my marriage for 20 years.

Why is decision-making in midlife so hard? And, why does deciding what to cook for dinner every single day of my life make me want to take to the bed? 

In this episode we talk about all things decisions, including:

• Decision Fatigue - What is it and why are we all suffering from it,
• Types of Decisions and how to make them,
• Why we keep "trying" to make some decisions without success, and
• How we can remove the brain drama to simplify decision-making.

I also give an example of how I walk a client through making a difficult decision, which is one of my favorite things to do as a life coach. And, I remind you that you don't need to spiritualize every decision. You can trust the mind and reason that God gave you to make the best decisions for your life.
