Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom

James, Jerah, and Jonathan are reviewing George C. Wolfe’s 2020 film, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” based on August Wilson’s play. The movie follows, “The Mother of Blues.” While in a tense recording studio, she faces opposition from her ambition trumpet player and management company. It stars Viola Davis, Chadwick Boseman, Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo, and Michael Potts.
