The final score might read like it wasn't a very competitive game, but in typical 2023.2024 Colorado Avalanche fashion, they didn't make things easy for themselves.

Up 5-2, the Avalanche again struggled defensively and in goal to let the Philadelphia Flyers back into the game, pulling to within one goal at 5-4. But an untimely penalty on the Flyers gave the Avs a power play goal, followed by Nathan MacKinnon sliding the puck to Logan O'Connor for an empty netter and his first career hat trick that sealed the deal.

Right now the Avalanche are outscoring their other problems, and that is not something they want to continue long term.
