Joanie has been having near death experience-like and out of body experiences since she was a small child. She is also a trauma survivor whose soul spared her suffering by leaving the body during abusive and painful situations. As a result, even today her soul is half in one world and half in the other and she often spontaneously receives downloads from the other side. In this episode she shares her journey and insights and we discuss how traumatic experiences often allow people to become more receptive to psychic awareness, but conversely, how these experiences can help us cope with human suffering. In this episode, Pearl S. shares her journey into mediumship and we discuss the complexities of spirit communication, how we can learn to interpret spirit messages and what happens when we die. Written by Pearl: It was 2012 when my mother passed that I realized I could still communicate clearly with her. This awareness started me on my path of psychic journeying, personal development and workshops and classes to help foster this newly developed path. My training includes evidential mediumship, psychic, soul, shamanic readings, and trance mediumship, and reading Tarot cards. My soul-centered approach in a Tarot reading is a holistic look at your soul’s journey, using the cards as a tool to light up the path of your experience. I live in Longmont, Colorado and offer in person and remote sessions. I also have a podcast called Spirit guided, and teach classes and participate in events. Karen Thomas’ near death experience occurred July 7, 1982 in Anchorage, Alaska where she had been working as a physical therapist. She injured her back and was scheduled for what would be her second back surgery. Concerned that this surgery may need to include a spinal fusion which could be a career-ending situation, Karen asked friends and family to pray for her on the day of her surgery. During surgery, Karen’s left common iliac artery was cut and she bled out on the operating room table. Today Karen is dedicated to telling her story of what took place during her near death experience. Karen has been a speaker for the IANDS Durham, North Carolina Group and her written story can be seen at IANDS.org under the title Prayers Like Musical Notes. She is featured in the Documentary Back from the Light co-produced by Yvonne Sneeden and Robert Neal Marshall. Valerie Johnson was nearly killed when her car went over an embankment after a night of drinking. In the operating room, her soul left her body and floated above it, witnessing the doctors working to save her life. While her near death experience was not a long and involved one, this experience showed her that the soul is not dependent on the body for survival and that death is nothing to be feared.
