According to research from Deloitte, only 12 percent of employees think their employers are “excellent” when it comes to driving the right company culture. Because culture is a top-down function and must begin with the CEO, this is indicative of poor, or struggling leadership. Based on this research, that would indicate that 88 percent of organizations need to take a serious look at why their company culture is struggling.
There are several factors in a toxic culture that can have a negative impact on the overall well-being of the employees. In this podcast, we will address six toxic elements that can have a profound impact on individual employees as well as the overall company culture.

In our continuing efforts to discover why there is a disconnect between the C-suite and employees regarding well-being, we dive into the same Deloitte survey that outlines these issues that we started to unpack in the previous podcast. In this episode, we look at the overall well-being of the employees vs the C-suite. Is there a class system that is being revealed? The findings in the survey revealed that although executives are better off than their employees, both groups are finding it difficult to make time for their well-being. For example, only around half of employees and two-thirds of the C-suite use all of their vacation time, take microbreaks during the day, get enough sleep, and have enough time for friends and family.
Rich and Maikel continue to dive into the topic of employee, and C-suite well-being on this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

As we saw with the Great Resignation, many employees are no longer willing to tolerate jobs that leave them in constant fatigue, stress, and unhappiness. The pandemic worsened everyone's well-being, but recent surveys show that executives do not realize how badly their employees are struggling. In fact, according to a survey conducted by Deloitte with employees and C-Suite executives in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and Australia, it is just the opposite. C-suite executives think their employees are doing much better than they actually are. So where is the disconnect?
Rich and Maikel start to discuss the C-suite's role in the well-being of their employees on this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

How important is it to the success of your organization to have well-trained, confident, leadership? How about a pipeline of leaders that are ready to step into critical positions in your organization? If you find yourself nodding your head in agreement, you are hopefully providing the necessary leadership development for those emerging leaders in your organization. However, if you have backed off from developing your people because times are tough and budgets don't allow it, you are coasting downhill toward destruction.
Rich and Maikel discuss why now is not the time to let off the gas on Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

Where there are people, there is conflict. As a leader, you will face conflict - it is inevitable. for this reason, conflict resolution is a must-have skill for leaders.
Why must conflict resolution be so important as a leader you ask? Because we each have our values, needs, and habits, it's easy to misunderstand or irritate one another. Left unchecked, conflict can lead to bad decisions and outright disputes, bullying, or harassment. Teamwork breaks down, morale drops and projects grind to a halt. Organizations feel hit with wasted talent, high absenteeism, and increased staff turnover.
Conflict can and must be resolved quickly. Conflict can clear the air, it can bring issues to light, strengthen relationships, and spark innovation – so long as you don't try to ignore it!
Rich and Maikel discuss the importance of conflict resolution on Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

To be great requires an impeccable work ethic, and doing the necessary work is inescapable. Though each of us has our own journey, the known formula for success seems universal – work hard, stay committed, perfect your craft, sharpen the saw, and take advantage of opportunities. Yet, there is an even more common mantra that sets a solid line of differentiation between two types of people - work smarter, not harder.
Rich and Maikel discuss the differences between hard work, and simply being ground up on this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.
