Cape Breton University is one of fifteen universities in Canada to be awarded an inaugural Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Institutional Capacity-Building Grant. The goal is to identify and eliminate systemic barriers that impede the career advancement, recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups.

She was a member of Parliament from 1997 to 2015, deputy leader of the New Democrats under Jack Layton, and a champion of issues such as rights for drug users and the plight of missing and murdered women. We spoke with Libby Davies about her life as a woman in politics, and her new book 'Outside In: A Political Memoir'.
