Make It Make Sense: Big Pharma

In this mini episode we break down the uncomfortable truth behind Big Pharma’s influence on modern health. They unpack how the pharmaceutical industry profits from sickness, dependency, and symptom management—not healing. From opioid crisis “solutions” sold by the very companies that fueled the epidemic, to commercials where side effects take longer to list than the benefits, this conversation exposes the system we’ve normalized without question. Anne shares her own experience stepping off multiple prescriptions and discovering that her body felt better without the pharmaceutical cocktail she’d been conditioned to trust. Together, they dive into why root-cause health is often dismissed, how insurance and liability keep doctors locked into symptom-based treatment, how emotional numbing from medications disconnects us from the signals our bodies are meant to feel, and why lifestyle choices—sunlight, movement, weight loss, stress reduction—are often more powerful than the pills marketed as cures. This episode challenges the belief that we live in a healthcare system at all, and asks the question we should have been asking all along: who profits from keeping us sick?

This podcast dives deep into real, raw topics—think vulnerability, triggers, and childhood trauma. But just so we're super clear: I’m not a licensed therapist, mental health professional, or anything close. I’m just a human sharing stories, lessons, and life hacks based on personal experience and a whole lot of curiosity.

So, while you might find some golden nuggets here, this is not therapy and should never replace professional mental health care. If you or someone you love is going through it, please—seriously—reach out to a licensed therapist or healthcare provider. You deserve the real deal.
