Do you feel confident? If you're like me, chances are the answer is -- Sometimes? It can be hard to be confident, especially when things change so much. We're not always sure what to do, how to respond. Confidence is fueled by certainty, which is why so often we find ourselves unconfident. If we can't know how something will work out, how can we be confident about it? This lack of certainty often leads us to overthink decisions, feel tentative, and second guess ourselves.

The good news is that we don't have to be sure of everything to be confident; we just have to be sure of something. Take a listen to this episode to learn how to create confidence by letting your brain find what it can be certain about.

This is one of my most popular episodes (#73). There are so many things that steal our joy -- the news, other people, and even our own thoughts and actions. Some days, joy feels impossible when the world is so broken. It was true a year ago when I recorded this episode and it's true now.

If you want to take your joy back, this episode is a good place to start.

This episode focuses on our nervous system and how it shapes our everyday experience, often before our minds even catch up. I share a helpful way to connect with our nervous system by thinking of it as an animal (such as a hummingbird, turtle, or dog). Thinking of ourselves in this way lets us step away from judgment and move toward compassion. Instead of criticizing ourselves for being “too sensitive” or “not strong enough,” I explore how we can learn to listen, respond, and care for our nervous systems with curiosity. This shift lets us build self-trust and show up more fully for our lives.
