This "mother work" as Sharon put it, and as we saw in the example of Deborah, is bearing with others and nurturing them in God. It's being yourself and holding up your unique light with courage, it's being a strengthener and encourager, it's meeting others where they're. It's holding space for another to feel safe being exactly who they are. It's forgiving, it's counseling together, it's going to places that may be uncomfortable to help another not have to walk alone, it's speaking the language of faith and hope, it's wisdom and good judgment, it's turning hearts to God. It's helping restore freedom and faith and God. It's walking with Christ and receiving daily strength to be able to walk with others in difficult circumstances where peace needs to be made. Mother-work is creating peace.
