Alex experiments with kratom to unlock his potential while Michael resorts to smelling salts. In the Beer News, Mikkeller says they're closing their San Diego brewery due to difficulties from Covid and their history of gender-based bullying, harrassment, and poor employee safety protocols has nothing to do with it, the Boyz wonder if Platform Brewing actually exists, and Auntie Anne's teams up with Evil Genius for a pretzel themed beer. For the Bottle Share, Alex brings in a barleywine collab between Alma Mader and Holy Mountain, Michael goes the mead route, and Stephen breaks the rule that "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas."

What happens when bodybuilding and folk rock collide? What if they also included breaking baseball bats in the name of evangelism? It's almost like a "What If?" reality within the Maltverse has been revealed. Dead characters are not only alive but thriving. In the Beer News, there's a CO2 shortage, a Pennsylvania staple closes it's doors, and Heineken releases some Heinekicks.

Stephen returns to Malt Couture but before The Malty Boyz settle back into their old ways of drinking barleywines, flanders reds, and shelf turds, Stephen got some notes about the episodes he missed. In the Beer News, the Boyz climb BAMF Mountain, look into Coors latest marketing ploy, "The Thirst Trap", and check out Goose Island's 2022 BCBS line up when they Goose It or Loose It.

Another episode, nice. Alex and Michael do this one. They talk about Miller Lite doing a collab with J Balvin, the new Modelo Oro light beer, and Lagunitus doing a sleek rebrand. They drink beers from Wondrous Brewing, Forest and Main, and Alewife. They also do a bit about Blackbeard's ghost. That's worth the listen alone imo.

They talk about beer caves in Iowa and Coors Light being allowed to do Super Bowl commercials again. They also get to talk about Lakeside, a creepy amusement park in Denver, very exciting stuff.

Alex and Michael invite comedian Nick Gligor back on the pod to drink some mezcal. In beer news, Alex breaks down the newly enacted New Jersey brewery law single-handedly making it even more difficult to like the state. In the mezcal throwdown, they drink mezcals from Del Maguey, Banhez, Yuu Baal, and Codigo 1530 and crown their favorite. They also eat worm salt and play a game in which the winner wins a jug of crickets.

For this one, we invite Deanna Belos from Sincere Engineer on the show to talk about Chicago and drink malort. She and the Malty Boyz drink a Cantillon they apparently weren't supposed to, they talk about chalk beer, and then they do an all Chicago-based bottle share with Second City meadery, Keeping Together, and Jeppson's Malort.

Check out Sincere Engineer on their east coast tour. Find dates at https://sincereengineer.com.

Alex and Michael do another episode by themselves. The bits are debatably better than last week's. It's a shorter episode than usual which is cool. They talk about beer stuff and then they drink beer and talk about it. Michael has to write these show notes while Stephen is gone.
