Malt Couture

The malty boyz are missing a boyz but the show must go on. Stephen is somewhere out in the world on a #wanderlust, so Alex and Michael are locking it down doing what they know best: so so bits and phoned in beer reviews. We will never change.

On this one we've got beers from Good Word, New Groove Brewing, and Monkish. We talk about Stone hopefully almost for the last time and we dust off the AB InBev vs Coors corn syrup controversy after a few years.

To celebrate Malt Couture's 4 year anniversary, the Malty Boyz™ put themselves through The Anniversary Cup. Featuring anniversary beers from 12 different breweries commemorating one to 30 years. It all starts off with a 5 year Bruery Anniversary Ale vertical to determine the Wild Card beer. Then it's New Money vs Old Money when anniversary beers from Allagash Brewing Company, Central Waters Brewing, Brasserie Fantôme, Firestone Walker Brewing Company, Jackie O's, Fonta Flora Brewery, Fremont Brewing, McIlhenney Brewing Company, Moksa Brewing, Revolution Brewing, and Triple Crossing Beer do battle. Only one beer can emerge as the Anniversary Cup Champion!

Due to unforseen CiRcUmStAnCeS, the Malty Boyz™ record this episode in the "dark" because Alex's internet goes out. With no Zoom video to reference, they must record using only the sound of their own not-so-soothing voices. In the Beer News, Selin's Grove says goodbye after 25 years of brewing, a New York brewery raffles off an AR-15, and Arby's releases a smoked bacon bourbon. Alex ticks a Fantome he's been chasing for over a decade followed by another linen closet deep cut for the Bottleshare. Michael continues Ohio beer month. Stephen brings on another barleywine from Virginia but it's not from Aslin this time.

That's right, in an unprecedented event, the Malty Boyz™ coincidently take the low ABV route starting with an non-alcoholic beverage hop infused beverage from Mikerphone. Then it's all light sailing from there with offerings from Sideward Brewing Co., Berryessa Brewing Co., and Ohio. In the Beer News, Modern Times is on the auction block, the Boyz learn about North Carolina obscenity laws, and Miller Lite releases a product that does not have Sofia Colucci's fingerprints on it.
