Luis Diaz, a Communication Specialist at Lexington Strategies and Professor of Strategic Communications at McGill University, sheds light on how to keep your corporate family close while social distancing.   

As a crisis management specialist, Luis admits that there was no way we could have fully planned for COVID-19. However, there are strategies and tactics to make sure you keep your employees on board.  

As soon as the pandemic hit, companies needed to make a plan (how to continue delivering services, how to manage employees, etc).  Then, practice open communication. No one knows what's happening, why lie about it? Being transparent is key.  Lastly, implement guided leadership. Explain the plan and why decisions were made over others.   

Luis also explained how to keep employees engaged if the pandemic lasts a long time.  

At his company, they even incorporated a social aspect (cocktail hour) for the employees. It turned out to be very successful and helpful.
