Marlee Silva is an Indigenous Australian podcaster and author. Marlee wrote a best seller called My Tidda, my Sister. Marlee is also a volunteer charity worker, a speaker, and also sits on the board of a charity called ID.
In 2019, along with her sister, Marlee was named as a finalist in the Australian Human Rights Commission 'Young People's Human Rights Medal.'
As a youngster, Marlee went through her own struggles as she tired to find her identity. Marlee felt like she had to justify her indigenous culture to her peers and was subjected to bullying and racist taunts. Marlee also is no stranger to mental health issues, battling a fairly significant episode of depression and anxiety whilst she was in high school. Nowadays Marlee helps others by involving herself in charities, public speaking and her podcasts.
