In this episode we share what we were taught growing up, then walk through the birth pains Jesus described in Matthew 24 using research Aaron gathered on false messiahs, wars, earthquakes, persecution, lawlessness, and the spread of the gospel. We spend time on the most striking signs of all, the rebirth of Israel in 1948 and the fig tree prophecy, and the active preparations being made for a third temple. The end times can stir up a lot of fear, but our hope is a wedding feast, not wrath. In this episode we share how we approach Bible prophecy with faith rather than anxiety, including what we experienced growing up and how to talk with your kids about it without causing fear. Some who once ministered as believers are now doing that same ministry as antichrists. In this episode we set two figures side by side: Jesus, the Christ, our anointed King and High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, and the Antichrist. Aaron carefully reads the four places the word antichrist appears in 1 and 2 John, showing that it first describes a spirit of apostasy that denies Jesus came in the flesh and that He is God. Then we turn to Daniel, 2 Thessalonians, and Revelation to see why a literal Antichrist is still to come, why the great falling away may already be underway, and why Aaron believes the man of lawlessness is likely alive today. We share seven words every parent should speak to their child: purpose, peace, belonging, imperfect, truth, reconciliation, and hope. We asked our kids which words they love, which they want to hear more, and which they never want to hear, and we talk about research on how back-and-forth conversations actually grow a child's brain. From reminding our children they have purpose as image-bearers, apart from anything they achieve, to humbly apologizing when we get it wrong, we share personal stories from gardening, studying outside, and our family's inside jokes, and how the words we choose shape our children's sense of self and their place in God's family.

Continuing our series on the power of words, we dig into two Bible stories that show how the enemy uses words as weapons. In 2 Kings 18-19, the Assyrian messenger taunts King Hezekiah with the question 'On what do you rest this trust of yours?' and tries to sow doubt among the people on the wall. We look at how Judah's leaders tried to guard the people's ears, how God reassured Hezekiah through Isaiah, and how Hezekiah took the letter and spread it before the Lord. Then we turn to Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and their 'but if not' faith in Daniel 3, and Jennifer shares how the words 'even if' carried her through a fearful moment.
