Calgary was a special place in the careers of many farriers in the last part of the 20th century and into the 21st. It hosted the World Championship Blacksmiths competition where the best of the best would convene. It was a virtual who's who of the farrier world. In the midst of it all was Canadian farrier Marshall Iles. Greeter, head steward, ambassador, coordinator, policeman, even competitor. Marshall wore every hat there was to wear.
