In fact all organisations manage risk - some have a disciplined approach that incorporates risk-based decision making, others are a bit more random in their approach.

There are in fact many people still out there, even at Board level, that think risk means only threats. This means that they are only doing half the job - and leaving the organisation exposed to missing opportunities to increase organisation value.
