MCMF

It's the first MCMF of the new year, with Gary rejoining the show to talk about Nova: Origin. Spinning out of the pages of Point One and AvX, this five issue story details how teenager Sam Alexander followed in his father's footsteps to become the new Human Rocket, Nova!

On episode 8, Marcus is joined by The Machine to talk about the first arc of the Mortal Kombat X tie-in comic, Blood Ties! Released weekly in 2015, this comic follows the events between Mortal Kombat(2011) and Mortal Kombat X, centering around the new characters introduced in the latter.

On episode 7 of MCMF, Marcus is joined by his friend Jessie to talk about Batgirl Rising! Written by Bryan Q. Miller, this series stars Stephanie Brown, the first (and only) character to hold the title of both Robin and Batgirl, in her only solo series to date.

Marcus is rejoined for episode 6 of MCMF by Jake, to cover BORN, the first arc of The Punisher series published under Marvel's darker MAX imprint.

This four-issue story follows Frank Castle through his final days serving in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, through the eyes of one of his men.

Content warning: this comic contains graphic depictions of physical and sexual violence, the latter of which is touched on briefly in this episode.

Episode 5 of MCMF features Pincente as he and Marcus go over the 2011 event SCHISM, detailing the events leading to the X-Men being split into two camps.

(In this episode, Grant Morrison is mistakenly referred to with the pronoun "he" instead of "they". We apologize for this error.)

For episode 4 of MCMF, Marcus is joined by known Tony Stark hater Gary to talk about Avengers vs X-Men!

Released in 2012, AvX covers the battle between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Children of the Atom over the mysterious and powerful Phoenix Force, believed by one side to signal Earth's doom and by the other to be their salvation.

For episode 3 of MCMF, Marcus is joined by his alternate universe counterpart, Manny, to talk about Spider-Man: Back in Black!

Spinning directly out of the events of Civil War, Back in Black features a fugitive Peter Parker trying to save his Aunt May and finding those responsible for attacking her, all the while evading the eye of the law.

On episode 2 of MCMF, Marcus and his friend Will dive into Red Hood and the Outlaws! One of the most popular titles of the New 52, this was one of the first ongoing series to feature former Robin Jason Todd as the protagonist.

In the maiden voyage of MCMF, Marcus sits down with his friend Jake to talk about one of the most celebrated comic book stories of the 1980s, The Judas Contract! Controversial in it's day, The Judas Contract reveals the true nature of the earth-shaking Teen Titan, Terra, and her relationship with villain Deathstroke and has been adapted multiple times, most famously in the second season of the 2003 Teen Titans animated series.

(In trade publication, The Judas Contract runs through New Teen Titans/Tales of The Teen Titans 39-44 and Annual #3. Content warning for discussion of an inappropriate relationship between a minor and an adult.)
