Welcome to Media Club Plus: a podcast about diving into the media that interests us and the stories that excite us. This episode we watched Trap, and next time we'll be back with a sequel to our season 1 screenshot stream for out next season: The Sopranos

Three of the five people on this show were really suprised by what Trap ended up being, which is funny because one of those three had already seen it!

Serial murderer Cooper Abbott aka The Butcher takes his young daughter to the event of a lifetime: perfect seats for pop phenom Lady Raven's stadium tour. Little does he know the concert has been turned intro a trap for him, set by the FBI. He uses his charm and some looney tunes logic to try to avoid being caught, while still trying to show his kid a good time.

Welcome to Media Club Plus: a podcast about diving into the media that interests us and the stories that excite us. We're almost finished with M Night Shyamalan!

This episode we watched Knock at the Cabin, and next time we'll be back with the most recent M Night movie Trap

We've got a pretty good one! M Night is able to take a short and fairly well edited script and some excellent performances and turn out a fun if thin and messy take on a home invasion thriller (slop lord continues his work?)

Couple Eric and Andrew are vacationing in the Pennsylvanian woods with their adopted daughter Wen when four weapon-weilding strangers (lead by human giant/elementary school teacher Leonard) force their way into the cabin and tie everyone up. These four have been having apocalyptic visions, and their goal is to get one member of the young family to sacrifice themself, and be killed by the other two, to prevent the end of the world. One by one the intruders kill themselves to herald a new disaster while the couple while Andrew and Eric figure out if that sacrifice is possible or even desired.

ANNOUNCEMENT: On Sunday the 15th and Monday the 16th, Friends at the Table going to be hosting ICEBREAKER, a two day fundraising marathon on Twitch to raise money for the Women's Foundation of Minnesota's Immigrant Rapid Response Fund! Read more here!

Welcome to Media Club Plus: a podcast about diving into the media that interests us and the stories that excite us. This season we're watching a selection of M Night Shyamalan movies.

This episode we watched Old, and next time we'll be back with our penultimate episode: Knock at the Cabin.

You may have heard that Old is about the beach that makes you old. Well, it really is about that! You get to the beach, start getting old, and you don't stop until you die. Many people in live go through getting older, but few as fast as the folks they put on the beach, and all the normal stuff that happens when you get older happens there, and some abnormal stuff too.

I sort of wish we talked more about the camera and composition in this movie because it was particularly strong! Definitely check out the screenshots for this one!

Welcome to Media Club Plus: a podcast about diving into the media that interests us and the stories that excite us. This season we're watching a selection of M Night Shyamalan movies.

This episode we watched Glass, and next time we'll be back with Old.

A fairly boring movie about nothing, M Night wastes what potential there is in his "super"powered characters by keeping them separate and alone for the whole movie, going to therapy instead of doing anything. And they don't even do a lot of therapy!

Welcome to Media Club Plus: a podcast about diving into the media that interests us and the stories that excite us. This season we're watching a selection of M Night Shyamalan movies.

This episode we watched Split. THERE WILL BE NO NEW EPISODE on the 30th, we are taking an episode off for the holidays. Check back next year, on the 13th, to hear us talk about Glass.

We all hated talking about this one. James McAvoy plays 24 people and 3 of them kidnap 3 girls.

Then he uses his brain to turn into a monster.

Welcome to Media Club Plus: a podcast about diving into the media that interests us and the stories that excite us. This season we're watching a selection of M Night Shyamalan movies.

This episode we watched The Visit and next time we'll be back with Split. Also have you seen our most recent Patreon episode, the Last Airbender watchalong that Austin joined us for? It's good! We've got a new bonus in the can too, the Season 1 crew reassembled to record an episode on the non canon movie Phantom Rouge, so stay tuned for that!

In this one, a pair of siblings try to avoid dealing with their feelings about their absent father by trying to fix their mom's feelings about her estranged parents. They do this by going to the middle of nowhere to meet them for the first time while making a documentary about it. Unfortunately, they're in a horror movie, so it goes way bad!

Featuring Keith Carberry (@KeithJCarberry), Sylvi Bullet (@SYLVIBULLET), Ali Acampora (@Ali-online), Arthur Martinez-Tebbel (@amtebbel) and Jack De Quidt (@notquitereal), the first thirdest guest on Media Club Plus season 2 (but the third thirdest overall)

Cypher Raige is the Prime Commander of the United Ranger Core, hero of humanity and the originator of Ghosting, a technique for suppressing emotions that allows one to become invisible to The Ursa, genetically modified monsters set loose upon the human colony of Nova Prime. His son, Kitai Raige, is a high performing and ambitious cadet, whose guilt about the death of his sister and his need to prove himself to his demanding and distant father keep him from achieving Ranger status. In an effort to bond, they board a ship to Cypher's last ever missing... until it crash lands on an inhabitable Earth: the first humans in 1000 years to walk its surface. Kitai must prove himself to his injured father, brave the surface of the hostile world, avoid or defeat the Ursa, and launch a beacon to their planet to await rescue.

Featuring Keith Carberry (@KeithJCarberry, @KeithJCarberry), Sylvi Bullet (@SYLVIBULLET), Ali Acampora (@Ali-online), Arthur Martinez-Tebbel (@amtebbel) and Austin Walker (@austinwalker) for his debut on the main feed of Season 2
