Spotlight honors Sara Bonnes, MD, MS, Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Bonnes found her passion in nutrition early and credits her knowledge in nutrition for opening up opportunities for her. As a General Internist, nutrition is pervasive in her practice, she sees so many diseases where nutrition is a key component in the management or the onset of the disease. She works in Mayo’s home PN program where she and her multidisciplinary team provide long-term care to patients on PN. Dr. Bonnes’ one advice to PN clinicians is to reach out to team members and peers for help. She says ASPEN is part of her team.
