"Fall in love. Maybe it doesn't have to be with someone. Fall in love with music, art, dancing in the dark, car rides at 1 am, the glistening of the stars, the colors of the sun as it rises, the smell of flowers, the feeling of adrenaline that takes over your whole body, and suffocates your lungs with joy, good friends who bring out your best, silence, noise, fall in love with the little things that make you feel most alive and find purpose. Fall in love with life."

You are beautiful, gay, giving, gentle, idiotically and deliciously feminine, sexy, wonderfullyintelligent, and wonderfully silly as well.

I want nothing else in this life than to be with you, to listen and watch you (your beautiful voice, your beauty), to argue with you, to laugh with you, to show you things and share things with you, to explore your magnificentmind, to explore your wonderful body, to help you, protect you, serve you, and bash you on the head when I think you are wrong …

Not to put too fine a point on it I consider that I am the only man outside mythology to have found the crock of gold at the rainbow’s end.

I have met a thousand animals and seen a thousand wonderful things … but –

All this I did without you. This was my loss.

    这一切无子携手,于我尽是枉然;

All this I want to do with you. This will be my gain.

Phoenix

David and Goliath..

In English-speaking cultures, a person's Christian name is commonly their first name and typically the name by which they are primarily known.

    Apple/Cherry/Candy/Crystal/Sunshine/Rainbow/Lucky/Cissy/Kitty/ Fanny/Dragon/Shark/Shadow/River/Angelababy…

    说到全名,他们的重名率就更低了。

    因为姓⽒太多了。以英国为例,⼤约从16世纪左右,⼈们开始⼴泛地制造和使用姓⽒:国家 地区,职业身份,身体特征,颜⾊形状,山川河流,瓜果蔬菜,花鸟鱼虫……⽜津词典里的每个单词,都有可能是某家⼈的姓⽒。⼀个牧羊⼈可能会姓屠夫,⼀个屠夫姓厨子,厨⼦姓铁匠,铁匠姓面包师傅,面包师傅姓赶⼤车的,赶⼤车的姓渔夫,渔夫姓教皇。

    没错,Shepherd/Cook/Smith/Baker/Carter/Fisher/Pope,这些都是常见姓氏。

    也有⼈在⽗亲的名字后面加上son:S-O-N, 从此作为家族姓⽒,比如 Jackson。

    也可以放在前面,比如Mc—— McDonald,意味“唐纳德之⼦”;

    或者是Fitz——F-I-T-Z——像美国作家菲茨杰拉德,表明他有位先祖名叫杰拉德。

    其他欧洲国家也类似。法语中的“卢梭”是指“红头发”;德语中的“舒马赫” 意为“鞋匠”,“爱因斯坦”的意思是“⼀块⽯头”。你看,中国⼈造的英⽂名字,和西⽅⼈造的姓,那奇葩程度,究竟谁是小 巫,谁是⼤巫,还真说不好。

    根据21世纪初的统计,美国和英国各有15万和27万姓⽒。

    根据⼏乎同⼀时间的统计,中国的王、李、张姓各占了八、九千万人口;前100个⼤姓占了全国人口的84.77%。重“姓”率如此之⾼,我们肯定要在名字上下点功夫。但他们就不⼀样了。更何况,除了名和姓,他们还有⼀个:Middle name. 中间名。

    中 间 名

    顾名思义,它是放在名和姓之间的名字。

    跟名字相似,你可以继承家中长辈的名字,但也可以使用名⼈的名字。或者,像赫本的⼉⼦肖恩那样,用母亲的姓Hepburn做中间名。也可以像小李⼦的爸妈⼀样,再选⼀个外国名字。

    前面说他有⼀个意⼤利风的名字。

    他的中间名呢,其实就是William—— 只不过他用了德语版——Wilhelm,既是德国皇帝的名字,也是尼采和⿊ 格尔的中间名。

    因此影帝的⼤名唤作:Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio。霸⽓吧?中间名还可以不⽌⼀个。比如英国演员“卷福”,他名叫“本尼迪克特”;姓“康伯巴奇”。有点长?不过,他的全名是,准备好了吗:Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch。要知道,卷福先⽣可不只是脸长⽽已。

    最美的情书
    作者:Gerald Durrell | 主播:孟飞Phoenix

I have seen a thousand sunsets and sunrises, on land where it floods forest and mountains with honey-colored light, at sea where it rises and sets like a blood orange in a multi-colored nest of cloud, slipping in and out of the vast ocean.

I have seen a thousand moons: harvest moons like gold coins; winter moons as white as ice chips; new moons like baby swan's feathers.

I have seen seas as smooth as if painted, colored like shot silk or blue as a kingfisher or transparent as glass or black and crumpled with foam, moving ponderously and murderously.

I have felt winds straight from theSouth Pole, bleak and wailing like a lost child; winds as tender and warm as a lover's breath; winds that carried the astringent smell of salt and the death of seaweeds; winds that carried the moist rich smell of a forest floor, the smell of a million flowers; fierce winds that churned and moved the sea like yeast; or winds that made the waters lap at the shore like a kitten.

I have known silence: the cold, earthy silence at the bottom of a newly dug well; the implacable stony silence of a deep cave; the hot, drugged midday silence when everything is hypnotized and stilled into silence by the eye of the sun; the silence when great music ends.

I have heard summer cicadas cry so that the sound seems stitched into your bones.

I have heard tree frogs in an orchestration as complicated as Bach, singing in a forest lit by a million emerald fireflies.

I have seen Whales, black as tar, cushioned on a cornflower blue sea, creating a Versailles of fountain with their breath.

I have watched butterflies emerge and sit, trembling, while the sun irons their wings smooth.

I have watched tigers, like flames, mating in the long grass.

I have been dive-bombed by an angry Raven, black and glossy as a Devil's hoof.

I have lain in water warm as milk, softas silk, while around me played a host of Dolphins.

I have met a thousand animals and seen a thousand wonderful things. All this I did without you. This was my loss. All this I want to do with you. This will be my gain. All this I would gladly have forgone for the sake of one minute of your company, for your laugh, your voice, your eyes, hair, lips, body, and above all for your sweet, ever-surprising mind which is an enchanting quarry in which it is my privilege to delve.

Phoenix

I wrote your name in the sand, but the waves washed it away.

I wrote your name in the sky, but the wind blew it away.

I wrote your name in my heart, and forever it will stay.

In 2016, the film, Your Name, showed in the mainland, which is so popular among the younger. Like a landscape shining after heavy rain, it feels like real life with the sharpness, brightness and sensation turned right up. Teenage Mitsuha is bored with her life in rural Japan; Taki is a boy in heroine’s age, living in Tokyo. Just a few times a week, it’s unexpectedly that they wake up in each other’s bodies. They have to navigate their everyday lives without knowing where to find anything or who anybody is. While in the end, Taki decides to search for Mistuha and Mistuha attends to do the same. Finally, they find out they don't live in the same time during the body swap.

“To avoid forgetting about each other, Mitsuha, let’s write down our names.” However, their memories about each other have been wiped away unavoidably. Eight years later, Taki can't figure out why he was drawn to Itomori, he can’t understand why he was so obsessed with the stories happened there.“

“Once in a while,I find myself crying when I wake up”,Mitsuha once said.

“I can never recall the dreams that I must have had. The sensation that I've lost something, lingers for a long time after I wake up.” Taki once said.“

Your Name, this film, is a tale of what happens to a boy and girl who are destined to meet. Neither one knows it yet, but somewhere out there is a person they are bound to care deeply about. And it seems like we have been searching for something that even we can’t remember.

The rhythm of modern city life is always very fast. We are all-nighters for coming meetings, sometimes run off our feet for our presentations. On the street, we hurry for all directions and we are too busy to dress up for a date, having difficulty in moving on and starting a new relationship.

It has been such a long time that we gradually get used to be alone.

We finally grow up to be the men and women that we’ve always dreamt of since our childhood, but somehow we are mature enough and behave like the robots that without feelings and love. In a relationship, we are supposed to be simple, instead, we play tricks and wrap other around our little fingers. We lay emphasis on receiving and losing that we are afraid of giving.

Falling in love is supposed to human’s instinct, but the situation doesn't appear the same. Girls and boys, who burst into tears in rain now calmly let tears run down from their eyes, tell themselves they’ve got work to do tomorrow.

Nevertheless, some are willing to hold dear to love. At the moment Mitsuha and Taki met with each other, tears welled from our eyes.

“What had caught my interest so much is now a mystery to me. But at a point, I was drawn to the events surrounding that comet.”

“I feel like I am always searching for something, for someone.”

Jehdi and Hassan were two merchants who were very close friends. Jehdi was a cheerful person, whereas Hassan was very serious, perhaps too cautious and careful. But an unbreakable bond of friendship tied them together and this made their journey in business a happy one, for they never had any disputes.

One time they started together toward the city of Touria.

They arrived at the outskirts of a forest where the big trees, moist rocks and cool shade invited them to take a well-deserved rest. Within a minute Jehdi fell asleep.

Hassan looked at his friend with a sigh and told himself, "He sleeps peacefully in nature as if he were in his own house. I am afraid of someone robbing me. Even though the thief might get very little, I am too apprehensive and I prefer to be cautious. After all, one never knows what might happen."

Hassan was ruminating over his anxiety when suddenly he saw a wasp coming out of Jehdi's left nostril. Its enigmatic dance surprised him. It flew toward a single pine tree standing on a rock, circled the tree three times, and then returned to the sleeping Jehdi and disappeared into his right nostril.

Just at that moment Jehdi woke up, sat up laughing, and said, "Hassan, you will never believe me. I just had a marvelous dream. Just imagine that there is a big pine tree standing on a high rock, exactly like the one you see there. A wasp droned around the trunk and it swings buzzed as if to say, 'You must dig in this place! You must dig in this place!' I started digging and found a big pot full of gold coins. I have never in my life seen so much money!"

Yes, truly it is a strange dream, replied Hassan. "If I were in your place, I would have dug around the pine tree there."

My poor friend, how naive you are. I would never take a dream seriously. It is so hot here. To dig would be torture! Please, let us continue our journey ...

But Hassan insisted, "Jehdi, a dream like this surely has a meaning. If you do not want to dig, I will try instead. Do you know what I propose to you? Sell your dream to me."

Jehdi began laughing loudly. "This is a good piece of business for me! How much will you pay?"

You have said that there is a big pile of gold coins. I am your friend and I do not want to wrong you. You tell me how much you estimate to be the price of your dream.

According to Long Yingtai, mother is the greatest full-time occupation and an all-rounded CEO, but without salary.

Handing everything of a child to teachers is the most irresponsible act of parents. However responsible and nice the teachers are, they cannot promise to possess the following qualities.

    1. Teachers can't guarantee good morality and behaviors of your child

    2. Teachers can't provide your child with good habits.

    3. Teachers can't provide your child with an interest in reading

    4. Teachers can't cultivate the spirit of your child

    5. Teachers can't give your child a lifelong happiness

A good teacher might have an influence on a child for a while. But parents, a lifetime.
